I'd have taken him if it meant we go up.
...we could have also benefited by dressing Gavin Rae up in a dress in training and ecouraging him to "goad" King.

I'd rather go down than watch scum like that.
Coventry will have a backlash within their own support over this.
if we'd signed him I'd want mine and my kids season ticket money refunded.
Disgusting character who belongs in a slum, not on £10k a week living in luxury.

Would you want your girls cheering on a convicted woman -beater on the sex offenders register. And not just the once either - 14 convictions.
I wouldn't.
I can't see how I could continue to be proud of my club if it stooped so low as to employ a low-life like that.

Tim, I wouldnt tell them, I am not going to go in to debate as as far as I am concerned he is Guilty as sin, but served his sentence and has to be able to continue his life. I wonder what Coventry fans will say ?

Yes but he's not continuing his life by going onto a building site. If he was a teacher or even an accountant, he'd be out of a job. Yet he's going to walk into a lovely contract worth part of a million, and step back into a lifestyle most of us could only dream of. Someone on the sex offenders register should not be alowed to perform in front of kids.
I could never see someone like that as a hero.
The kids if they don't know now would find out one day, its not really a secret. Mine are a bit older and I couldn't hide that from them.
It WILL be interesting to see what Cov fans think, their Trust was on the radio a few weeks ago saying that it just should not happen. I wonder if they've changed their tune.

Tim, When He scores, I promise you they will be Signing his name, Thats football fans for you.

Not much on this site, but rumours that their sponsors have threatened to pull out over his signing.
Most of their fans seem to be turning a blind eye to it.
I'm sure that wouldn't have happened here - there would be a blazing debate

did you continue to support the club after mccormack was found guilty of drink driving?
he was lucky he didn't kill several innocent people and it was only a barrier he hit.
but hey ho no harm done.

He didnt though did he. Phil Dwyer is still a legend to me, but he's been done for it too - there's probably one (drink driver) at every club.
Even if he had hit someone there was no intent -stupidity yes, but not intent.
Also thats the one and only time McCormack has been in trouble - 14 convictions for King.
King intentionally smacked the women he hit (not just one)
I don't see McCormack on the sex-offenders register.
Not to condone what he did, but the 2 offenses are chalk and cheese.

IMO if you get behind the wheel drunk then you may as well have te intention of killing someone, to mark it off as stupidity is wrong.
I don't like king as a person but believe he would make a massive difference to this squad. It's that balance of what you want most at the end of the day.

McCormack commited one crime have a look a Kings Criminal history he's a constant violent reoffender

Mon Sep 20, 2010 11:43 pm

We live in a civilised society which means where possible we try to rehabilitate our criminal offenders. Marlon King was found guilty by a court of law and was sentenced to a prison. He served part of the sentence and is now out on licence and should be looking to rebuild his life.
His profession is playing football so it is not surprising he has chosen to return before he becomes too old to play in a few years time.
It goes without saying his crimes were odious but he has paid his debt to society and if he does turn his life around he will be an excellent example for other ex-criminals to follow. No-one has to like Marlon King or his past misgivings but the right thing to do is to give him another chance.
