RUBIN COLLWILL : CARDIFF CITY TEAM NAMED:

Fri Apr 15, 2022 1:07 pm

Rubin Collwill dropped again

Collwill in and out of team.

Oliver Denham comes in for his first Championship start :bluebird:

Mark Harris starts

Joe Ralls??

Another ripping up of the playbook today from Steve Morison. There are seven changes from the side which beat Reading 2-1 last week, most notably Oliver Denham comes in for his first Championship start.

So, too, does Uche Ikpeazu, at least in a Bluebirds shirt anyway.

There is no Joe Ralls in today's squad. While we are still trying to check that one out, initial information is that it is a layover from Reading last week, during which he came off with an injury in the second half. The man who came on that day, and scored the winner no less, was Will Vaulks, who starts in midfield alongside Ryan Wintle.

Isaak Davies and Mark Harris both get their opportunities up front, flanking Ikpeazu. Rubin Colwill and Tommy Doyle drop to the bench.

Aden Flint captains the side after sitting last week's game out.

Why are you trying to be incendiary with your thread title? It’s obvious Morison is trying a few different things here as it’s nearly a new-look team

Morison said he’s going to treat him like Phil Foden

Are you serious???

Colwill is one of my favourites, so am i not allowed to put his name up?

I feel Colwill never gets a DECENT RUN.

Im allowed my view, am i not??

Why play Flint as he is off this June?

Lets play the players that will be here next season :thumbright: :bluebird:

Looking forward to seeing him and Doyle in the starting line up on Monday. Glad we can rotate. Shows we are no longer in the mix.

Colwill doesn't do enough for me to start tbh seems more of a luxury type player. Good to bring on if needed ,very attacking team 3 upfront

I have no problem with that team selection as it’s clearly a balance between a team that can win it and also trying out others. Hull are still not safe so to play a completely untried team wouldn’t be right to the teams below Hull.

I can see why he’s playing Flint for this one, because he needs some experience alongside Denham and McGuinness. He could have played Nelson but he’s only just back from injury and Ng is new to the position himself so Flint is a sensible choice.

That said, I would be as disappointed as Forever Blue if Colwill doesn’t start on Monday. He needs to be playing and, more importantly, Morison needs to develop a system that gets the most out of him.

Let’s see how the next couple of games go before jumping on Morison’s back. Don’t forget every club has received an email from EFL to remind them of the need to field a strong team in every game or there could be sanctions so there is a find line to tread.

By the way, do we read anything into Ralls not playing? I don’t mind whether he goes or stays personally so just found that interesting.

Hull clearly see a weakness on our right side …. Began and Denham seem very vulnerable …. So they are pumping the ball to the quick Potter ….. who is getting behind our defenders.
