MY VIEW: AS MORISON MADE BIG CHANGES TO THE TEAM FROM THE EM

Sat Apr 09, 2022 3:49 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

AS MORISON MADE BIG CHANGES TO THE TEAM FROM THE EMBARRASSING DEFEAT TO THE JACKS & CITY CONTINUED TO BE AWFUL / THEN IN THE 2ND HALF OF THIS GAME THEY FINALLY CAME ALIVE / IF ONLY THEY HAD DONE THE SAME V THE JACKS :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Will Vaulks makes it 3pts for Cardiff on the road and surely deserves to be kept on next season :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

It was a back four for Cardiff. Drameh, Ng, Nelson and Bagan. Doughty and Colwill on the wings, Ralls and Wintle sitting deep behind Doyle. Hugill up top on his own.

FIRST-HALF:Reading came out and took control from the first minute and went 1nil up with in 7mins. Awful once again defending by Cardiff

Poor half by Cardiff, very disappointed

That was a battering in certain periods. Cardiff could get out of their own half. So sloppy in possession

SECOND-HALF: Poor start by Cardiff then Ralls put the ball through for Doughty to make it 1-1 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Incredible :bluebird: :bluebird:

GOAL! Reading 1-2 Cardiff City (Vaulks 85)
GOAL! WILL VAULKS!!!!!!!!

City were a different team, good comeback :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

64th min: Ralls hobbled off with an injury and was replaced by Vaulks (Not good at all)

READING 1 CARDIFF CITY 2 :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:
H-T 1-0
Crowd
Away Support ( 2,134 )

Cardiff City: Phillips; Drameh, Ng, Nelson, Bagan; Doyle, Wintle, Ralls, Doughty; Colwill, Hugill.

Subs: Luthra, McGuinness, Flint, Vaulks, Harris, Davies, Ikpeazu.

GOAL! Reading 1-0 Cardiff City (Joao 7)
Goal. Lucas Joao climbed and nodded home at the back post.

A cross from Yiadom was lofted to the back post and the striker leapt above Ng and stuck it past Phillips from point-blank range.

A very Poor half by Cardiff, very disappointed

H-T 1-0

GOAL! Reading 1-1 Cardiff City (Doughty 59) :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
Goal! Doughty with a great finish!

Ralls played an excellent ball through the defence and Doughty took a lovely first touch before bending it superbly past Nyland :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

64th min: Ralls hobbled off with an injury and was replaced by Vaulks (Not good at all)

Ng booked. Shocker of a challenge on Joao on halfway.

74th min: Doughty off, Davies on.

Incredible :bluebird: :bluebird:

GOAL! Reading 1-2 Cardiff City (Vaulks 85)
GOAL! WILL VAULKS!!!!!!!!
Will Vaulks Chipped it over 1-2 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Isaak Davies in to Doyle, who slots in a lovely ball to Vaulks, who is driving into the box, and he blasts home! :bluebird: :bluebird:

Hugill off for Ikpeazu.

It was all change for Cardiff City! :bluebird:

Dillon Phillips displaced Alex Smithies in goal, with Rohan Luthra taking a spot on the Bluebirds bench. The youngster was signed after leaving Crystal Palace last summer.

In midfield it looks as though Alfie Doughty will occupy the left flank while Tommy Doyle is shipped out to the right.

Rubin Colwill, like he was at QPR, was deployed alongside Jordan Hugill to lead the line.

On the bench which included Isaak Davies, Uche Ikpeazu and Mark Harris. The experienced Aden Flint is also among the replacements next to centre-back Mark McGuinness.

Its a win against a team that has struggled all season.

Really glad Will Vaulks got the winning goal. I would love to see him here next season.

You’re joking right?

One goal does not mask what an awful season he has had.

City will need much better midfielders next season.

It was an excellent come back which was totally unexpected after a dismal first half. :bluebird:

Some atonement for last week. Colwill man of the match for me. Mathematically safe at last too. A horrible season to definitely forget. Now some games left to prepare for next year.

I thought 2nd half we were excellent. I would give vaulks a new contract this system suits him and he's a good all round squad player ,he's not on massive wages either .

I agree that Will Vaulks should be given a new 12k contract always gives his all and can score important goals like today!

We have often seen a game of two half's under SM, seems like this was another one. I wish he'd give his HT talk before the match, as whatever he says seems to make a big difference (don't mention last week). The recent return of conceding early is a concern, I'd thought that had been addressed. I don't know if it was a soft goal but its still appears to be within us.

Glad our amazing away support had something to smile about again today.

It goes without saying a City player should “give it their all” - that’s what they’re paid to do.

He may be a nice bloke but surely anyone can see Vaulks is just not good enough at this level irrespective of his enthusiasm and very occasional goal and (overrated) long throws.

His only saving grace may be as a squad player to cover injuries and suspensions, but certainly not a regular starter.

Trouble before we were playing a midfield that consists of all Ralls/Vaulks type players, you need them in team but you don't want 5.

Its not because there bad or anything, they work hard and try make things tick. Put there body on the line, professional fouls etc.

Would like to see Vaulks and Ralls both sign

Its a no for me with vaulks compare him to doyle miles behind
doyle is the type of players we should be hoping to have
not some midfielder because he is cheap
i want a midfielder who can really make a difference most of vaulks games this season have been shockers or non events
and if thats the sort of player we are looking at because of low funds
its going to be an even tougher next season than this one
with all the changes needed and a chance for virtually a new 11 to gel with each other.

I guess you’re the only one that can see he’s not good enough at this level
