Hugill future new twist

Norwich City are reportedly ready to trigger a 12-month contract extension for Teemu Pukki which will have a big impact on Jordan Hugill's future at the club.

Reports in Spain have claimed that La Liga outfit Celta Vigo had registered an interest in signing Pukki, with the Canaries almost certain to be relegated from the Premier League.

Hugill has shown what a top Championship striker he can be over the course of his career, but as has been said to WalesOnline recently, there are three forward players ahead of him in the pecking order. If Pukki were to leave then Hugill would be more likely to stay at Carrow Road next season.

But the Pink Un report that Norwich are keen to tie the Finland international down to a new deal, which will have ramifications for Cardiff striker Hugill. Pukki, whose current deal expires in June, is also a proven goalscorer in the Championship, with 55 goals in 84 appearances to his name in the second tier.

It would be no surprise to see the Bluebirds register an interest in bringing Hugill back next term, that's for sure. If he finds himself bottom of the pile in East Anglia, Cardiff might be an attractive proposition again for Hugill. He has been quizzed over potentially returning to the Welsh capital next season in recent weeks.

The only problem would be if a fee was wanted for Hugill and his high wages as Cardiff are not prepared to pay either.

The prospect of being at a club as the No1 striker may be in our favour as the man comes accross as not one to like splinters in his arse.

I thought he was a decent signing first of all until the Swansea game, jogged around all day like he didn't care & when he got subbed just shrugged his shoulders like he didn't give a toss..
