I'd be all for that and the club are reacting to some pretty wasteful salaries paid out in recent seasons

I also agree on the one-year at a time manager contract stance

I Have been bagging on about this for a while when it comes to PRP .

Pay them a very very basic amount - just for turning up, keeping fit and trying to get some tactics sorted. Then pay them massively for each game they win. If you are a player that likes to coast it - the rest of the team / squad will soon want that player out the way if it affects their own wage. The team will self discipline itself.

So a £12gpw won't effect many players some nowhere near that amount a week. Dillon Phillips £4400 a week more than 7 times less than Smithies. What joker sorted that salary out. Tbf some of these were signed up in the premiership either from other clubs or extensions but there should of been 50% relegation clauses inserted which there wasn't.
