Breaking: Steve Morison has just called All the squad.

Mon Apr 04, 2022 11:31 am

Steve Morison and the players have just finished testing and just called All the squad down the Vale to watch The Jack match on a big screen and wants to see where they have gone wrong and the players .

Personally after Saturday, I have lost Total Respect for him and would be happy if he left this Summer , as that’s how I personally feel.

Morison you and the players first have to change your attitudes.

2nd don’t think your better than our fans.

3rd Admit when you as the manager got it totally wrong.

4th And the players need to have passion and pride in their jersey and get f*cking stuck in.

5th The Jacks and The Worzels wanted it more than you lot did and that’s down to you and above.

6th I can not believe you allowed our players to be in Dubai pudding it up during international break.

They can watch it as many times as they want but it won't change anything, the damage is done unfortunately and it will take a long time for the fans to forgive that pathetic performance.

With the backlash coming his way and the players its going to take some effort getting the fans back on side.

I'm not in that camp wanting Morison gone but its getting close. i don't think I could stomach those players plying Saturday against Reading. It just might be worth putting out an inexperienced team because if they get beat some of us might knap out of it all.

Regardless what happens these 11 will go down in history as the worse performing 11 of all time. That's the mountain they have to climb.

Agree, Ian

All good watching; but (as my late father would say) at some point, they have to have it explained in a way they fully understand...

I thought (going on reports) that Steve Morison was the man for that; but it seems that might not be the case?

Get a few fans in there and they will explain it to them quite clearly and I am 100% positive it will be with more passion, fight, guts than they showed on the fecking pitch.

I'm as gutted as anyone about the result and more so with the seeming lack of respect but I'm not throwing my toys out yet.We havent done that well under several managers when it comes to derbys but I'll wait and see what the summer brings because if you keep changing the manager especially after one poor result you run the risk of totally f*cking up this club long term.

Losing 0-4 at home certainly suggests things are not going well

Because Malky aside, they don’t give a toss about this game. Considering the amount of managers Swansea have had in the past few years l, they always seem to be able to get their team up for it. Even when we have won they’ve always been in the game u til the last minutes.

Hope they enjoy watching the game as much as I did. Do they have to fork out £60 for the pleasure too?

Well that is something going through my mind.

I just don't feel the public slating that Morison has given has help much. I bet the Max Watters like has something to do with that. Something will come out very shortly if any of this is true.

Morison deserves all the slating he gets, yes we will get behind him at Reading but he took Watters off in that one game for not being up to it yet he accepts the shite of the rest of them :banghead:

Should've had them all in yesterday!

Showing them how incompetent they were? They "played" in the game.

Here's the thing, do the know they were dreadful or not?

Complacency set in?

Think your wrong about Morrison annis yes he got it wrong Saturday but he’s the best manager we’ve had in years

They should have been in sunday morning.

Supported SM so far and he has improved the squad with loans, but saturday he got it all wrong.

All the good will he has built up has been lost by me.

If he went today i really would not care, he could take the rest of the lazy F@@@@@@s with him.

Dalman there saturday as well , last time was after MM sacking.

Must have been given directions to get there

Martin,

It’s the way I feel at this moment about Morison, as I feel he has not got the passion as I thought and his picking of the side etc was awful yesterday.

Yes we have improved our football , but I think his inexperience will cost us.

As to ducking this club up long term , Tan, Dalman and Choo have already done that several times over already .

Sometimes theres a line , and when overstepped thats it.

SM, The board are all on that line.

Nothing, nothing will ever erase that result from our memories.

Totally dismantled on our own patch.

I agree with all six points you make, although I'm not in the camp of "get Morison out". The progress has been pretty steady under him but he and the players got this massively wrong on Saturday.

My opinion is we shouldn't dump Morison just because of one bad defeat, and let's not beat about the bush, it was as bad as I can ever remember in a derby  Otherwise we'll never get a stable managerial set-up, we'll just lurch from one to another with no real long-term direction.

I said when he was appointed (and I was all for it) that if we make a brave appointment like that he has to have at least two transfer windows and we have to back him through the bad times. Well, it can't get any worse than it was on Saturday and we deserve better. 90% of fans wanted Morison appointed, he's been supported by us, now he has to re-earn that respect and support and accept that was a disaster on Saturday and needs putting right starting at Reading.

He's had one excellent transfer window and he's going to need something as good as that is the summer to take us forward in the way I believe is possible.

This isn't about a lack of ability, we've shown in a number of games recently that we can play good football and be more organised against better teams than the Jacks (Fulham, Forest, Huddersfield, QPR and even Liverpool !!). This was about motivation and tactics, neither of which were right.

Colwill was stripped waiting to come on when the 2nd goal went in. Why did he wait ? It wasn't working at half-time, none of the starters could have moaned if they were hauled off in the break so just be decisive like he has done previously, ask Watters and Isaak Davies !!

Young managers, like young players, tend to make more mistakes but the important thing is that they don't make them again. If we had lost on Saturday to the better team but absolutely bust a gut in every challenge, ran ourselves into the ground and kept going right until the end I would have been disappointed but I would accept it.

We'll now see what our manager is made of. He will have already worked out what his team are made of, just like we have, so be brave and let's try out the players who are probably desperate to get out there. In my opinion we should only play those who aren't going to be here next season if we're short of numbers, they've had their chance and failed, time to move on.

For me I'd only keep Vaulks and Morrison out of those coming to the end of their contract and those two only because I think they do provide some leadership unlike the faceless wonders that were on the pitch on Saturday !!

Rant over !!

I was in the camp of keeping the likes of Smithies, Flint and Ralls.

Big wages, are not going to get better and Ralls, 1 good game in 10 and never a captain.

Re: Breaking: Steve Morison has just called All the squad.

Mon Apr 04, 2022 1:21 pm

we are not going anywhere starting players like Harris - He offers nothing

Re: Breaking: Steve Morison has just called All the squad.

Mon Apr 04, 2022 1:29 pm

Not advocating Morison out, as he has enough credit in the bank to keep his job until next season. Saying that, I can’t believe how shambolic that performance was. I’ve heard pundits say how excellent the jacks were, but we made them look way better than what they are.
This defeat is going to take a long time to get over. I think we’ll struggle to win another game this season.

Re: Breaking: Steve Morison has just called All the squad.

Mon Apr 04, 2022 1:49 pm

For me personally I think SM is finished as Cardiff City manager. He and his so called players are a total disgrace, an embarrassment, and history will forever dictate abject failures, on, and off the field.

Dubai??? FFS? Almost as bad as that Debacle v Middlesborough when DJ was in charge, with player allegedly out on the lash shortly before?

Totally unacceptable, and SM should resign over this outrageous fiasco!

Re: Breaking: Steve Morison has just called All the squad.

Mon Apr 04, 2022 2:02 pm

Big mistake from Morison, he underestimated the importance of the game, while our players went to London Dubai etc for some fun the Jacks treated it like the World cup final it is to them, and worked on our strengths and weaknesses and beat us comfortably.

Morison and most of those players should be embarrassed they let let the fans down big time but mostly let themselves down they looked like a parks team !!

Re: Breaking: Steve Morison has just called All the squad.

Mon Apr 04, 2022 2:08 pm

I hope they are all as embarrassed as we are all furious with the performances of all bar 2 or 3 on Saturday. If the ones out of contract think that performances like Saturday will get them 20k plus a week, good luck with that.
I still think that when Morison bri gs in his own players instead of what he was mainly left with, I don't think Derby performances like Saturday will happen again.
While I was stunned by the apparent lack of effort by most of the team, by the time I got home to Grangetown a lot of my anger had subsided due to my health issues that I posted about on here on Saturday.
I'm 68 and been supporting City since I was 8,and in the past a performance like Saturday against any team would have totally ruined the following week, but Swansea would have made me suicidal, but as I say health issues put a whole different prospective on things.
As I say I still trust SM to make us a far better side next year, and who knows we may have a second SW double to gloat about.

You will note it's taken me until today to be considered in my response rather than the pure anger that was pouring out of me on Saturday :banghead:

Yep, his inexperience has to be a worry. But it would have been for the Jacks when they appointed Rodgers, Martinez, Cooper, Martin, etc., or Derby when they appointed Rooney. To be fair, it was risky for us to appoint Malky too, particularly when he faced a similar re-build job to what Morison will have in the summer. Whilst I'm not Malky's biggest fan, he certainly delivered on his main target.

We just have to allow these younger managers to, hopefully, learn on the job. Otherwise we'll only ever have managers like Slade, Warnock and McCarthy and they are too short-term to ever maintain a sustained period of progress.

I would really love for Morison to come back from this a better manager but, as you say, he's lost a lot of the credit he built up and really needs to understand that as a manager he has to lead the team, coaching staff, board, media and supporters so it's much bigger than just what happens on a Saturday.

:bluebird:
