Shouldn’t have treated this man so badly and let him go the way we did.

A leader, a fighter and someone who always played for the badge.

Understand he’s getting older but still plays well when asked for Boro.

Would still do a solid job in our backline, that’s a certainty.

I can virtually guarantee that Morison wouldn't have let him go like McCarthy did

He didn't fancy him which is why he only gave him a token 30 seconds at the end of the season.

Sometimes it's not just about ability but also an ability to lead. Bamba has that, Sean Morrisson does to a lesser extent, but that's something Morison will have to sort out in the summer.

Ralls or Flint are not captains or leaders and when the going gets tough it gets more obvious.

To be honest, the only one in that squad who has those sort of qualities is Vaulks who is very vocal on and off the pitch. He may be limited in ability but does anyone think he would have let the Jack midfield waltz around him without making them jump about a bit ?

And he wouldn't have accepted the performance of other players during the game

At least he would have put himself about a bit

Couldn't agree more with the OP and I said so when he (Sol Bamba) was released

A(nother) huge McCarthy error that has bit us on the backside :(

The strength of character, leadership and understanding of what a 'derby' requires is one of the reasons I'd like to see the experienced Captain Sean Morrison given a new contract :thumbright:

I would agree with that.

When Warnock took over he said the dressing room had very few leaders so he sorted that out, Morison needs to do the same but keeping Morrison will at least help for now.

100% agree with the OP.
I said at the time and I also said to the people that mattered.
