Just another 3 points?

Sun Apr 03, 2022 10:38 am

We were totally outclassed by a very average team yesterday who we managed to make look like the Barcelona of old. Their players, manager and fans wanted it far more than ours which always seems to be the case.

SM's pre match comment of it being just another 3 points told me all i needed to know about his approach to the game.
This was a must not lose game and we handed it to them on a plate, they didnt even have to get out of second gear to earn the 3 points.

The Jacks probably have tougher training matches than we gave them yesterday.

I was expecting far more passion and hwyl from an SM team with his Millwall connections and all that but it seemed like we treated it like a pre season friendly with players cruising through games to avoid injury.

i appreciate that the out of contract players dont want to risk injury in what was probably a nothing game to them as they will be looking for new clubs next season and have to put themselves first.

The same goes for the on loan players, they can just go back to their parent clubs and forget all about Cardiff City.
We on the other hand have to live with the result for a long long time.

Swansea yesterday were as one and that really hurts as we had no fight or spirit to even get close to them.

Russell Martin played a blinder yesterday from the moment he walked on to the pitch before the game to salute the Jacks in the corner, SM did nothing pre match to give us any hint that his team would be up for a battle.

like other Swansea managers before him he plays the support like a fiddle and they buy into the 'I love being at Swansea, its a great little club' thing, but as soon as a bigger club comes in for him he will be off like Cooper and the rest.

The players can try and redeem themselves for the rest of the season and try to win every game but you know what, i couldnt give a damn if we lose the lot as the season is over as far as im concerned.

But like a fool I'll still turn up for every game.

Like a fool or as a supporter, who doesn't let one poor result amongst several good ones under Steve Morison, define their season/lives? :?

Hopefully the latter and I for one won't be dwelling on this result or letting it or the Jacks ruin my otherwise good weekend
