FAO Cardiff city manager Steve Morison.

Sat Apr 02, 2022 4:17 pm

Today the club hit rock bottom and you will go down in history for it unfortunately.

So to assist in its recovery drop every single player that played today and replace them with our youngsters. i don't think one supported could stomach watching any of that 11 play in a Cardiff short for the next game so do us a favour an just do it. The result wont matter.

Good post but for me a bit harsh on Cody Drameh also I'd go along with the youngsters only as long as it includes Colwill, Davies and Bagan.

I'm glad Vaulks didn't play. I would make him captain for the next game.

You should include SM in that as well. Hopefully he will walk or get sacked after that shit show. I’d be glad if he never managed us again.

Bit harsh on Morrison don’t think that’s the result he wanted it’s just our team isn’t good enough half of them are just playing out there contracts and don’t give a shit if we win or lose .I’d rather watch the under 23s in our last 2 home games at least we’ll be watching a side with passion and want to win

Re: FAO Cardiff city manager Steve Morison.

Todder, the “we’re not good enough” line is rubbish. The jacks were two points ahead of us and we made them look like Barca f*cking Lona

There was a class difference yesterday, a gulf as wide as the Atlantic and that was in the dug outs. The jacks were basically on the same points as us. By championship standards they have a unique style and some teams struggle with it and others just hammer them. We were schooled !! Man City didn't do that to us a few seasons ago ! But, we had a manager who had a plan.

Of those seeing out their contracts

Smithies - didn't have a chance
Flint - a typical Flinty performance
Ralls - Captain and apparently offered a fresh deal

Hugil tried, but they knew what we were going to do
Drameh- tried and was our best player
Doyle - The Jack exploited the weakness in our rigid 532 and made doyle look daft trying to match up two Jacks (same as Ralls)

The other are ours and will be with us next season

Steve, Morison won't go down in history for losing two Welsh Derbies. Mccarthy was in charge of the first one this season.
Onwards and upwards, today is, another day

That is true of course BUT he was in charge for the biggest home defeat for Cardiff in the history of this fixture.

don t agree with dropping the 11..
those 11 need to go against Reading and get a result.
We can’t play youngsters,Reading still in a relegation battle and we owe it to the teams below to do our best.
Cole i’ll, yes , he has tricky feet, but why doesn’t he track back, did u watch him yesterday when the Jacks broke ? I am 60 and could run faster than him..
Play Uche, Hughill and Davies up front..
and Hudson needs to be doing some work with that defence.
The Jacks knew our weakness and went for it.. Bagan couldn’t cope and he had no back up.
From now til end of season they owe us...
and next season Morison needs to ensure. we did that ‘double’. .. if he is still here by the reverse fixture.

I agree not to drop 11 and let the majority have a chance to redeem themselves a little. Not sure how long Davies and Harris have contracts for but neither are good enough to be our first team 2nd striker imo.

At this stage in his career Davies is an old fashioned inside forward in a 433, he is not ready to play centrally and need the space the flanks offer. All his best bits are out wide cutting in

This is exactly the excuse he used before the game. “It’s not my double, I wasn’t in charge when they beat us 3-0 at their place” no but you have now given us a result that is even worse and more embarrassing than the previous game! (When it didn’t seem like it could get any worse)

Does it matter? Warnock had 1 derby and lost. Is that not his loss because he now isn’t here? Joke. Stop defending Morison, I’ve had a sleep on it but still can’t get his past his stupid comments in the press conference. Lost the game as soon as he made them.

I feel sure you meant Bagan and you would be right. He is and will continue to learn; but no player can be left exposed, as he, Smithies, Hugill, Doyle and Ralls were

I'd say the same about Drameh but he rose above it and pit on hid own good performance under the circumstances, as did my MotM, the increasingly impressive Perry Ng

It was a bad day at the office

Bit of an over reaction. It's a game of football. There are worse things going on in the world. I was gutted by the result. Shocked too as I didn't see it coming. I won't go on my normal media pages for a while as I don't want to read about it. What happened happened. Deal with it and move on. Personally I'm excited by the next stage in our Club's development. Can't wait for the wheeling and dealing to begin.

Rock bottom ! FFS I remember finishing 91st in the football league. Get a backbone and support the youngsters don't get on their backs. As for the manager let's bring back Mccarthy shall we.

Finishing 91st was nothing compared to yesterday.

Who is getting on the youngsters back, was it them that produced that performance yesterday?

As for the manager, he has lost all credit he has built up. That's how much this game means to us.

To not do the post match interviews and say “my remit was to keep the club up” is embarrassing to those like me who have defended Steve Morison.

He should apologise for his selection and that “display” that embarrassed this club!

I have just watched his interview and its so poor. He just doesn't seem to get the magnitude of this defeat and performance. He should have apologised. For me he's now fatally wounded as our manager because whatever he does going forward he will be tarnished by this 'one game' as he puts it. Any patience or goodwill he had has gone. As soon as we hit a run of poor results the knives will be out. Its a huge shame because I had hoped he had potential but what I now see is an arrogant pretender who lacks the motivational skills for the big occasions. Football is mainly about tactics but it is also about heart and mindset too. His woeful inability to do this was brutally exposed this weekend. Great managers are great leaders and for me he is a no 2 not a manager.

Good post. SM has totally lost any credibility that he might have had prior to the game. Totally all gone, disintegrated in less than 90 minutes. His days are now numbered as a Cardiff City manager,,,, and he only has himself to blame!

Re: FAO Cardiff city manager Steve Morison.

Arrogant pretender promoted above ability level. Cheap, quick fix.

If as he claims, priority was to keep us in this league, then he has secured that.

Now, do we or the board see him as a great redeemer?

That is a good post, I think you're probably right our fans are pretty unforgiving especially about performances like that and then an underestimation of the importance. It will be a shame because he's a young Manager and he's clearly made two mistakes there, but will learn and I think he will eventually make a decent Manager. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us play well on Saturday, win and Swansea play badly and lose like last time, they raise their game for their World Cup final, we treat it like any other game.

Our season is over since we are safe but have no chance of play-offs so I agree we should give players like King, Denham, Cian Ashford, Ratcliffe some games to see how they develop.
