We've been screwed over, again. Colombia I think only team ranked above us who haven't qualified though with hosts (!) also in pot 1 we are almost amongst seeds 2.

Pot one: Qatar, Brazil, Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Spain & Portugal.

Pot two: Mexico, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Uruguay, Switzerland, USA & Croatia.

Pot three: Senegal, Iran, Japan, Morocco, Serbia, Poland, South Korea, Tunisia.

Pot four: Cameroon, Canada, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Wales/Scotland/Ukraine, Costa Rica/New Zealand, Australia/UAE/Peru.





How does the draw work?

The teams will be split into eight groups of four, with all groups featuring one country from each pot. Groups will contain no more than one team from each confederation, aside from Europe. A maximum of two UEFA sides can be included in a single group.








Why are Wales in pot four?

Due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, play-off matches in Wales' path have been delayed. Scotland are due to face Ukraine in the semi-finals in June, with the winner travelling to Cardiff for the final.

To be honest, it would be such a fantastic achievement for us to even participate in the tournament, I don't care who we draw out of the hat or which pot we're in. Bring on Brazil, Germany and the rest !

I don't think it makes too much difference in a World Cup as the groups are always pretty difficult. As well as current rankings, doesn't it also go on qualification and progress for previous World Cups?

No difference there between pot 3 & 4, doesn't really matter when it comes to the world cup finals anyway as we've seen some surprising results over the years.

Too true about the results. None more so than England's group in 2014. A group containing Italy, Uruguay, England, Costa Rica and the latter comes out on top. I think it's fair to say England won't replicate their bottom place finish this time !

Would want to avoid Poland from Pot 3, but that could be compensated by getting Qatar from pot 1.

It would be amazing but we usually lose to Scotland in the big qualifiers for some reason, so I'm not getting excited yet!
