Lee, I screenshot most tickets for events I go to these days and they always seem to work

The unique 'code' ensures they work just the once, so they cannot be used fraudulently

Screenshot of the barcode from my ticketing site. Click on the mobile phone symbol. Opens it as a pdf I think.
