As a football fan, a country where drinking/being drunk and swearing can be punishable by prison doesn’t exactly appeal. Not to forget all the other stuff you’re restricted on. Not allowed to wear shorts in public spaces in a country that’s 25+ degrees at night...

Maybe they will be less strict knowing that there will be hundreds of thousands of foreigners in their country at one time? Hope they got big prisons.

They won’t bother trying to enforce it on foreigners, such is the fact that their culture isn’t so much based on a religion as it is maintaining a status quo and keeping underlings subservient

I thought I read they will have supporters areas where you are able to drink However getting a drink elsewhere maybe an issue.
You can drink at license bars which tend to be in hotels and let’s say you can get pissed in most pubs for the price of one drink in hotels there.
I would think that they may turn a blind eye to most cases of foreigners being drunk all apart from the worst cases
I will not go for a few reason and cost is one of them

You will be fine with knee length shorts but most shopping malls will not let you in with them on thou Outside should not be an issue Nothing less than a sleeve tee shirt thou Best tops totally a no no

I'm looking forward to the world cup whether we are in it or not. But never have a world cup in a country such as Qatar again to be honest. Nothing to do with hating the country or religious values, I can't stress that enough.
But the amount of agg it's causing the football associations and the football calender is madness

Nearly 7000 construction workers from Nepal,Bangladesh,India,Sri Lanka and India have died building stadiums and infrastructure since Qatar awarded the competition.Black Lives Matter.Appears brown lives don’t.I can’t bring myself to get exited and won’t be following the tournament.
