Ian Rush:
Gareth Bale’s next move: “He’ll keep his options open and one of those offers might be Cardiff. It would not surprise me if he went there. He’s a Cardiff boy and even though they’re in the Championship I don’t think that’ bother him.”
“He certainly wouldn’t be going there for the money but it ticks a lot of other boxes. He’d be doing Wales proud because it’s his hometown team and it would allow him to prolong his international career if he’s playing at a less demanding level in his club career.”

Cardiff had the advantage in that he and his family are from Cardiff. Cardiff train and the same resort as Wales. And most importantly - we have better golf courses nearby .(as opposed to west Wales)

Gareth Bale, an incredible player and a good man, would be a sensational capture for the Welsh capital club but he will have options that will depend on the next Wales result and could potentially include retiring from the game
If Wales progress, finally becoming a Bluebird has so many advantages for him, the Bluebirds and Wales
But it's just worth remembering, like with Giggs, Bellamy and others, he owes us nothing as a club; we neither produced or deveoped him at any point
Craig was the amazing exception to the general 'never played for the Bluebirds' club and is now a Bluebird hero, just like the home-produced 'Rambo' and just as Gareth Bale could still be...
Gareth's 'love' is for his home city (the only real one in Wales, St David's apart) and his country
If either or both of those are the draw for next season, I'll take it with immense gratitude; but if he doesn't, I won't hold it against him

Indeed it is, Allan; two cities for the price of one makes at least twice as good as our next biggest town...![]()

What an incredible thought; and I know 'Rambo' wouldn't be averse to coming back to where it all started at some point, so if a package (maybe sponsored?) could be put together...?
Celtic Manor Resort (with free golf membership) for Gareth and Caerphilly Garden Centre for 'Rambo'![]()

Perhaps he could become part of the ownership, or Director of football, what is the option of playing every now and again
