Whats James Collins Future?

James Collins:

Bluebirds 28 appearances / 3 goals / 32 yrs old later this year.

Personally I feel we need to move him out, def this Summer.

Gives 100%, but not a Championship striker.

From day one, I could not understand why he was signed, Collins had his best years in the lower leagues and even though he scored 10 in the Championship for Luton, they were mainly penalties. Luton fans loved him, but felt it was time to move him on and look for a better striker.

Collins failed under Mick McCarthy here and has been dropped totally from the match day squads, unless injuries to others.

OPINIONS?

Got to agree with you - a grafter - but we need ( and presently have), better strikers - albeit on loan.

Totally agree with you Annis, nice guy but not enough quality for us needs to go

I like his attitude, commitment and willingness to work hard; but sadly, to date, he has failed to hit the heights this club and its supporters should reasonably expect, so I think he will be allowed to go

I think others should be on this (current) list of one and all I will say is that it says a lot when the manager trusts his young guns and loanees over seasoned 'professionals' like Pack, Bacuna and others

Expect big changes this summer with a maximum of two or three of those at contract end being offered new ones

Ralls, Flint and Smithies are essential with captain Sean Morrison being offered a 'see how it goes' contract as he recovers from his injury (he still has a big part to play at this club IMHO)

I was a big defender of Collins and wanted him to be given a chance when we created chances.

He was and didn’t score.

I was wrong.

No good for us,get rid.

Thought when he was hitting the ground running after the pre season goals but sadly never materialised. And confidence shot out of him (and most of squad) after McCarthy's poor season. Dont think he's done enough to warrant anything else since then really. Urgent attention needed in the striker department again in summer

I want Hugill to stay if moving Collins costs on along with Moores makes that happen, I'd be well happy.

Can’t see Smithies signing on when he’s on £30k currently unfortunately

Easily get that as a backup premier league keeper to fill homegrown quotas

No Premier league club will be coming in for Smithies, absolutely no chance, he will not get £30k a week in the championship either so he would be better off staying put and accept a drop in wages

Fulham fans probably said the same about Marcus Bettineli and he’s now at Chelsea. Or Butland at Palace.

I would send him back to Luton.
He simply dont try hard enough to make the starting line-up.
Im sure he is amazing for a team like Luton but our club needs to focus on the future.

“A team like Luton”? What’s that supposed to mean? You’re so disrespectful to a team that currently occupies 3rd position in the championship. What position are we in again? Please remind me!
I’d rather us be where Luton are right now. You make us look like spoilt brats. :banghead:
