Is it just me or does anyone else find it cringey and shit?
Was kind of a fun thing in Russell slade days and trollope etc when we couldn't win a corner. But imo now its gone and I hate it every time I hear it

I still can't fault the traditional BLUEBIRDS chant whilst pointing to the corner they are about to take it from.

Yes I hear it every time we have a corner.
I can’t see the relevance of it now that we’ve moved away from McCarthys style of playing for a set piece. It doesn’t annoy me but it’s a bit pointless now imo.

There's a guy who regularly starts this chant on the front left hand side of the Canton stand...we call him the corner guy.

First heard it in the Grange end when Toshack was our striker circa 1970 so I like it for that reason

The chant goes back to the late sixties/early seventies, the days of Toshack and Clarke, when we were pushing for promotion to the old First Division, probably the hey day of the old enlarged Grange End. As I remember it was chanted with a bit more aggression than the current version.

Actually seems like I was wrong I’ll admit I only scanned the vid and saw a clip of Ninian park and Ali at Cardiff market so assumed it was a Cardiff chant first. Rewatching the full thing it turns out Ali played it over the speakers and the Ajax fans sang along so it seems we did nick it off them.
Regardless, I’d prefer our fans sang the full version. I feel like it shouldn’t be too hard as most people know the words.

Yep great days. I used to love "Those were the days". In fact it was our song for a while. The back of the Grange End would be bouncing literally -how those old wooden terraces didn't collapse I will never know!
