MY VIEW: EXACTLY WHAT THIS MATCH WAS A GAME WITH NOTHING TO

Sat Mar 12, 2022 4:50 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

EXACTLY WHAT THIS MATCH WAS A GAME WITH NOTHING TO PLAY FOR / ANOTHER POINT GAINED THOUGH.

I Feel for the fans as this was boring.

For me lets see more youngsters on the bench at the next match.

Neither side creating anything special.

Steve Morison made two changes: - @Tommy_Doyle8 & @isaakdavies77 come in! :bluebird: :bluebird:

The match was exactly like this, neither team played like they could go up and neither team could go down.

FIRST-HALF: No chances for either side after the first 25mins. Over all nothing that really stood out and No real chances.

My Brother in law just said the best part of the first-half he enjoyed was the Cheese Burger but that worked out at £2 a bite  at least he could buy one, think of Chelsea fans

SECOND-HALF: No better than the first-half.

City: Alex Smithies, Cody Drameh, Perry Ng, Aden Flint, Mark McGuinness
Alfie Doughty, Ryan Wintle, Joe Ralls, Tommy Doyle, Isaak Davies,Jordan Hugill

Sub: Dillon Phillips, Joel Bagan, Oliver Denham, Will Vaulks
Rubin Colwill, Mark Harris, Uche Ikpeazu

A couple of chances (sort of) before the end of the first half.

Hugill had an effort just inside the area blocked by Diaby, before Doyle's ball from deep found Doughty, who then proceeded to put the ball into orbit.

H-T 0-0

61st min:
Double change as Colwill came on for Doyle and Ikpeazu replaced Davies.

Should of really been 1-0 Preston.

Riis Jakobsen had an effort crowded out, before Archer forces a brilliant save from Smithies on the turn.

The rebound fell kindly for Browne, but he somehow steers it wide.

Looked like he may have slipped at the crucial moment there.

Fans at the ground should get a reward if they stayed to the end.

Ikpeazu is my MOM for at least trying to score unlike the others on the pitch.

Games like this happen. We didn't lose. We move onto the next game.

I thought Preston would’ve given a bit more effort tbh. 9 games left and only 6pts off the play offs. If I was a PNE fan I’d be a bit miffed by that performance (or lack of).

Scrappy game poor ref and few unlucky chances Preston typical strong physical bully side unattractive football : cold and no excitement to get blood flowing

Two hyper defensive teams waiting for a mistake from the other. We could still be playing and it would be 0-0
Our whole game plan if hope Drameh can create a turnover, but when he did we butchered every one.

I thought the ref was consistent.

We play 532 not 352 like SM likes to say. The gap between the mid 3 and forwards was far too big all game. It was like watching a Harris game.

Thought Preston looked a good side. Always seemed to have an extra man available. Not so good when Uche came on. Livened the Canton up.

Felt like an end of season game and 2 v 1 shots on target said a lot... :(

We missed Vaults.

Well it did improve in the 2nd half but still neither side did enough to win this game. Another clean sheet for
City.

goalkeeper Alex Smithies, muscular Uche Ikpeazu looked most threatening for City. A game Cardiff might have lost early season.

Steve Morison:

"The positive is that we’ve kept a clean sheet. We defend as a team, and everyone plays a part in that."
