' Latest on Tom Sang / Ciaron Brown '

Thu Mar 03, 2022 11:09 am

Tom Sang has been in and out of St.Johnstones first team, but has started the last two games.

Sang who is 23 years old in a couple of months , went out on loan to Cheltenham Town last season and was the same happened their with him.

It appears Steve Morison has his doubts with the player.

My personal view, never ever thought Sang was good enough for the Championship.

Ciaron Brown has been in and out also, he is on loan at League 1 Oxford United.

Another player, I have only ever rated as a League 2 player at best.

Brown is 24 years old.

Sang has some quality but not sure he will be good enough for us Brown as you mention looks like a few central defenders we came across when we were in old division 4 I don’t see any quality apart from effort

I don’t see Brown getting back in the side with the defenders we have plus whatever youngsters we bring through.

Brown certainly not up to Championship standard and never will be.

I did quite like Sang initially but didn’t realise how old he was so he should have progressed a lot further if he was going to make it.

Sang is way behind Davies, Colwill, McGuinness, Bagan, etc., and they’re younger than him.

Brown should leave at his contract expiry. He isn’t Championship standard.
Sang I think has ability and should be part of the squad but probably not a starter in games.

I think Sang could be a useful squad player next season but we should have took whatever money warnock offered for Brown at the start of the season. Solid enough in defence but he's the type of defender morison is trying to move away from.

Oxford are happy with Brown.

I think league one is his level. But also playing for a team not always under the cosh is helping him.

It’s easier to not make mistakes if you are in action 60% less.

He even popped up with a match winning goal last week.

Playing left of three centre backs with a ball player centre and another ball player right centre back.

Oxford play football we can only dream about even under Morison.

Sang was decent v Rangers in midweek I’d have him back.

We should allow Sang go and find his level. You need to be a starter by 21/22 or you are at the wrong club.

Brown is not championship standard.

At least we know 20 year old Connolly is L2 at centre half. Very encouraging.

I don’t believe either are good enough for the championship especially if city wants to progress next season .
We have much better options at the moment and if we are able to recruit in the summer , then they will be further down the pecking order .
Both top half league 2 standard for me
