MY VIEW:CARDIFF TONIGHT IN THE SECOND-HALF PLAYED SOME CLASS

Tue Mar 01, 2022 9:37 pm

MY VIEW /OPINION;

CARDIFF TONIGHT IN THE SECOND-HALF PLAYED SOME CLASS FOOTBALL FOR 30 MINS & FULLY DESERVED THEIR GOAL TO SECURE THE 3PTS :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

CARDIFF FIELDED A VERY STRONG TEAM TONIGHT WITH ISAAK DAVIES & HUGILL UPFRONT.

3 very good points in a tough game, with an end to end game, but Cardiff for 30 mins in the 2nd-half played some very good football and got the goal by Ikpeazu to secure for me our Championship status.

Derby had 67% possession.

First-half: End to end for large periods of the game, for me Derby edged it.

Second-half: Derby bombarded Cardiff's goal for 20mins, then Cardiff suddenly came to life and the football was class and was followed by an onslaught on Derby's goal which resulted in Ikpeazu scoring the winner :bluebird: :bluebird:

CARDIFF CITY 1 DEBRY COUNTY 0 :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:
H-T 0-0
Crowd: 18,787

Cardiff City: Smithies; Ng, Flint, McGuinness; Drameh, Wintle, Ralls, Doyle, Bagan; Hugill, Davies.

Subs: Phillips, Denham, Doughty, King, Pack, Harris, Ikpeazu.

End to end for large periods of the game, for me Derby edged it.

H-T 0-0

Derby bombarded Cardiff's goal.

56th min: Oh what a save by Smithies

Bagan blocked a Kazim-Richards shot and it comes out to Ebosele on the wing. He hits a lovely cross to Morrison, who looks to bury his header from point-blank range, but it's a fantastic save from Smithies to deny him.

Kazim-Richards cannot turn in the rebound from the post.

65th min: Hugill off, Ikpeazu on.

70th min: Harris on for Isaak Davies.

78th min: Doughty on for Bagan.

81st min: Ralls shot, hit the bar!

He drove the ball into the box and lets a lovely left-footed effort against the bar!

So close again.

83rd min:Sibley on for Knight, for Derby.

WELL DESERVED :bluebird: :bluebird:

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Derby County (Ikpeazu 85) :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
Goal! UCHE!

Ng floated a lovely cross into the danger area and Ikpeazu gets across his man, Curtis Davies, before sliding his first-time effort into the bottom corner.

Lovely goal to be fair.

Dive by the Derby player, break, brilliant cross, defender all over Uche, stronger man, gets toe to it. Deserved.

Hope they enjoy their snowy drive home. Dickheads.

Must have missed the class football when i went for a piss.....

Out battled them in the end and we had better players. Drameh is a machine.

Out gunned in the middle as they had the audacity to only leave 2 back when they attacked, they were justy shit. We beat the relegations teams and that's what we needed to do. We battered Posh and out battled barnsley and Derby

The midfield was an improvement, second half in particular, and that’s clear evidence of the lack of ability, basic skill and impact of Vaulks.
He just cannot be offered a new contract

We won ugly, if we never won it would have been plain ugly. Its no different from Mick, but with better players

Also no different to most of our wins under Malky and Warnock, I'd argue.

It wasn't free flowing tonight, but we did deserve the win.

I think it's fair to give Morison credit when many thought he'd help to send us down.

Absolutely give credit, the team are definitely playing for him, they are fighting, we won because we just wanted it more, it was pure unrelenting will power. But i can't have the style has improved because it hasn't. We just we have two youngster with a touch of class in Doyle and an absolute machine in Drameh.

Turning point was that Smithies save and the miss in the follow up. Up until then Derby were the better side, but didn’t really test Smithies. After that, we battered them and deserved the win.
Wasn’t pretty, but really enjoyed that!

Disagree about the style. But your other points are fair.

As regards to the style, all about opinions :thumbright:

We weren’t brilliant by any means but to say our football is no different from Mick is fundamentally wrong. Under him we literally couldn’t keep the ball for more than 3 or 4 passes and created barely anything. Worlds apart.

Yes but it wasn’t exactly a masterclass in passing from us last night. We had 19% possession in the first half. We were outplayed and out passed by Derby for an hour but had a good 20 minute spell in the second half and it was enough. Evidence that we have turned a corner? A bit dubious. At least there is no chance of relegation now but we still look a bit ordinary and I dread to think where we would be without the loan players.

Think Morison has done an excellent job so far considering he took over after 8 defeats in a row, crap football and an incompetent manager but not going to put on the rose tinted glasses just yet. Would help for me if he would play Cowill who is a massive attacking threat and potentially our best player.

Pretty much every stat has improved since morison came in. Micks team selection and tactics were the worst I've seen down the city. In what way have we not improved?
