A forum for all things Cardiff City

For what its worth my thoughts on the current owner is that he made two very big and very naive mistakes, the biggest being the rebrand, the second being the statement of being debt free. There is also a 3rd and that is he hasn’t brought in a football person between him and the day to day running of the club.
For me he put the first mistake right (or his mother did allegedly) all be it a little late and after a season or two of total unrest between the supporters - but at the end of the day he did put it right.
The second point regarding debt is that he is effectively taking on the debt with writing off his loans to equity, which is the next best thing to making us debt free as far as the books show.
I honestly think that if Dalman was to go then a more hands on football or sporting person should be appointed, i remember a while ago it was said that maybe Laura McCalister would be a good shout, but that would be as chairman (person) not as a DOF as some want, of which I also believe maybe the way forward.
So in my opinion that’s 3 mistakes that makes me understand why some really have no regards to the man.
What about his good points ?
Took us over when we were at the 11th hour of going into administration, arguably if it wasn’t for Tan and associates there would be no Cardiff City FC
When he took on Malky I’m sure we were in a similar position then that we will be in this summer, all loans going back to parent clubs and a lot of players off the books, didn’t Malky only have 8 first team players when he took over (or is that my memory playing tricks?)
Has bankrolled every manager with the exception of MM, even this season we were told no money in January, yet how many loans did we get in on decent wages ? And please lets not have a debate on loans in are equal to the loans out on wages etc
I was ecstatic when a billionaire owner took us over, then thought he lost the plot when he changed us to Red and really despised him for it, however he changed us back and the second visit to the Premier League wasn’t as bad as some make out (I don’t like reminding of the first time) for all his faults we all loved Warnock but all knew quietly he wasn’t going to cut it in the promised land - but boy did he give it a go.
I honestly think if Morison stays then Tan will spend in the summer, just a bit more wisely based on what SM has done in January, as he has always done so as I mentioned above.
Look at some of the takeovers at other so called big clubs in and around the championship and when all said and done we haven’t had it that bad (post rebrand of the rebrand)
So for me and for what its worth, sort out Dalman and maybe Choo and replace with football people and then its better the devil you know………. Surely ?

Mate, you me and Barclay all being bullied for speaking how we feel regarding our owner Tan, if we do not say he has done a great job, then we are bullied of here. They need to lookwhere we are in the league and the squad of players we have.
