There are a lot of people who can afford to buy our club.

The more pertinent question is Does anyone who can afford to buy our club WANT to buy our club?

It's not the buying , it's the maintaining debts , losses , investment in new players etc

Needs big money

Sam Hamman apparently wants to buy it. He ran out of money last time but he's got a new plan!

Elon Musk
The queen
Tom Cruise

I reckon they’ve got enough spare cash to afford us.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Sam (and family) was richer than Tan by now ;)

But £100m wouldn't even touch the sides would it ?

Even people who don't want Tan have said that we've run up big debts meaning that his investment is £150m, then there's the current court cases which could add nearly £50m.

So that's £200m. Nobody is going to be able to progress this club without having further money to invest, what shall we say £30m ?

Those opponents have claimed that there have already been substantial offers that Tan has turned down. That demonstrates he isn't going to sell to anyone on the cheap.

So unless somebody has a spare £230m in their back pocket I would suggest it's unlikely there will be any change in ownership any time soon.

I accept that all of my figures are pretty much educated guesses, but no way £100m would be anywhere near tempting Tan or, more importantly, offering any real prospect of significant investment in the club or squad.

The club is no where near that value.

Tan would be lucky to get £50m for it.

I'm not saying it's worth that much, I'm saying that's what it would take for Tan to sell. Big difference.

I know who the two interested bidders were last year.

Ive if The bidders had a South African interest and showed they had £50m available there and then to purchase a falling championship club. I have it in good authority that VT wouldn’t even show them the books so they walked away

I am grateful for what VT has done for the club but like any business he either needs to take us to the Premiership himself or allow someone else to do so - or accept help from someone else and get us there together

Why because Tan has lost alot or Sam has got richer?

And BTW my original comment was tongue in cheek and was meant to mean - He failed once (financially), what's saying he can do it properly this time?

Isn’t the stadium alone valued at something like £45m?

Scratch that. I think it’s much higher, somewhere in the region of £70m.
