League Two Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of attacker Lee Tomlin on a deal until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old arrives on a free transfer after he left Championship side Cardiff City back in October.
Former Cardiff City player Lee Tomlin joins League 2 club Walsall till May this year.
Ex Newport County and now manager Michael Flynn wants to give Lee Tomlin a fresh start.
Tomlin had hoped to sign for Non League Wrexham, but after a trial period the Welsh club decided not to sign him.
My View: Tomlin had the skill, the quality beyond, but terrible attitude on and off the pitch was his downfall.
LEE TOMLIN TOLD MIDDLESBOROUGH / BRISTOL CITY / BOURNEMOUTH / PETERBOROUGH / NOTTINGHAM FOREST & CARDIFF CITY THAT HE WAS A CHANGED PERSON AT EVERY CLUB HE JOINED.
In 4 & a 1/2 years Lee Tomlin started 36 times for his previous club Cardiff City.
LEE TOMLIN:
“I’m happy to be here,” he said.
“I had a phone call from the Head Coach when he got the job asking if I’d like to come in.
“I remember the first day I first came in I enjoyed training, I enjoyed being around the lads and that’s all I want to do – enjoy football again.
“I’ve had a few months out now, got myself fit again so hopefully I can kick on and do my best for Walsall.”
Saddlers Head Coach Michael Flynn is delighted to have secured his services and believes he is a good fit for his squad.
“Lee, first of all didn’t want to move away having had a new baby but he ticked a lot of boxes and once somebody with his quality becomes available and you manage to get him, you’re over the moon.
“Lee can unlock any defence in this league, he scores goals and he creates them too and so he will no doubt improve us from an attacking front.
“He’s been training with us recently and whilst we continue to work on his match fitness, he is eager, raring to go and ready top help the team.”

The usual will follow contract until end of the season will play well then will get another 1 or 2 year contract will go on the pies in the summer and that will be that. Seriously a terrible shame a supremely talented player but ultimately lazy b*stard
