MY VIEW / OPINION:

TONIGHT CARDIFF HELD THE LEAD FOR THE MAIN PART OF THE GAME, BUT AFTER CONTINUAL PRESSURE FROM HUDDERSFIELD, CARDIFF COLLAPSED & CONCEDED TWO GOALS.

WELL DONE TO CARDIFF FANS / LOUD & FULLY BEHIND THE BLUEBIRDS :bluebird: :bluebird:

For me after such a solid performance the last 20 mins City lost the 3pts.

Steve Morison must be shell shocked how it finished

FIRST-HALF: Was an impressive first 45 for Cardiff. They held firm and had the better of the chances on the counter.
A good / solid performance by Cardiff.

SECOND-HALF: Huddersfield put the pressure on Cardiff, for long periods. City scored a well taken goal by Doyle and from then on were organised and solid :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

88th min equaliser by Huddersfield.  but then in the 96th min Huddersfield scored the winner

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 2 CARDIFF CITY 1

Cardiff City: Smithies; Ng, Flint, McGuinness; Drameh, Vaulks, Doyle, Wintle, Bagan; Hugill, Davies.

Subs: Phillips, Denham, Doughty, King, Ralls, Harris, Ikpeazu.

I thought Vaulks has been terrific in the middle of the park so far. He Properly stepped up against a very good passing side

H-T 0-0

Huddersfield put the pressure on Cardiff, for long periods.

GOAL! Huddersfield Town 0-1 Cardiff City (Doyle 60)
Goal! Tommy Doyle! :bluebird: :bluebird:

It's Doyle with the finish, but it's all about that touch from Jordan Hugill.

Hugill turned one around the corner first time and Doyle takes it in his stride before calmly lifting it over the onrushing Lee Nicholls. Lovely goal, that :bluebird: :bluebird:

64th min: Mark Harris on for Isaak Davies.

77th min: Doyle off, Ralls on.

82th min: Hugill off, Uche Ikpeazu on.

GOAL! Huddersfield Town 1-1 Cardiff City (Korom 88)
Goal. Josh Koroma scores.

GOAL! Huddersfield Town 2-1 Cardiff City (Russell 90+6)
Goal. Agony for Cardiff.

A cross into the box is controlled neatly by Russell, who turns his man and pokes home.

Same old sit back most the game five yards outside our area with Hoof and hope football. Couldn't string five passes between them. Nothing more than I expected tbh. My 10yr old lad could have run around more than the subs who come on. Pathetic

Reverted to type after we scored, smack it long mostly aimlessly.

I will be devastated if we sign Uche Ikpeazu....

Bagan got skinned and there winger put cross after cross unchallenged or not closed down and they scored from both crosses our own fault you got to stop crosses and there winger did' nt need to get to the byline he put them in from anywhere simple law of averages i thought we played really well spart from not stopping there winger perhaps a game to far for bagan fitness wise.

I thought was an excellent performance but got sucked into a game where Huddersfield just pumped the ball into our box and they got the breaks.

If we’d done that it would have criticised as “Warnock Ball”.

I thought we deserved at least a point after being in the lead until the 88min.

There’s a few people on here who need to remember we just got beat in injury by a team in 4th place !!

I do wonder what some people have been watching!!

I think Sorba Thomas will end up in the premier league but he decided in that weather he just needed to get the ball in the box, great game management. He didn't have Bagan on toast outside, but just clever play.

Sort of sums up our season we struggle to keep a clean sheet and again this evening 2 late goals from chaos in the centre of our defence and Huddersfield score 2 goals from only 3 efforts on target. By comparison we score 1 from 7 efforts on target. Sort of sums up the task our manager faces in the summer.

The positive is Huddersfield beat Fulham on the weekend and are a well organised team on a good run and we gave them a real workout and Derby and Peterborough lost so no need to get down over this.

Next Tuesday mind is a massive game for us.

Lack of ambition cost us there.Sat back not only trying to defend the lead but trying to wind the crowd up which succeded and give them a platform.Players let the manager down tonight.Pity because I thought the first half performance was as good as I've seen all season.

Well that's really annoyed me, after a great performance for the first 88 minutes. But it was only a matter of time until they got something from the constant barrage of diagonal balls from Thomas, especially when Rhodes came on. I think Bagan defeded Thomas brilliantly one on one towards the byline, but the problem balls were when Thomas dropped deeper or cut inside onto his left. I think Morison should have tweaked the formation to give Bagan support on the inside. By bringing Doughty on instead of Harris and have him playing more of a left midfielder, as he would still be that outlet for a quick break. I also think the substitutes had a negative impact on our performance today, but I certainly don't knock Morison for making them. Ralls struggled to get to grips with the game, and the two strikers had nothing to do and what they did do was not exactly good.

Hugil going off changed the game. It was like kicking the ball against a 10m concrete wall as hard as you can, the ball just kept coming back.

Yeah we lost 2-1 again sitting back hoofing and hope cost us 2nd half. Stats mean feck all we had 27% of the ball but sitting back cost us. Rarely do u see games with that possession with wins tbh. As for that lump we got from Boro i've seen one legged pirates move about quicker.

Shots on goal / shots on target?
We completely kept them at bay until the last quarter. We were extremely disciplined and hit them on the break. We were playing the team currently 4th on a fantastic run.

Ikpeazu is Boro's problem, a typical Warnock legacy for the next manager. Is he better than Collins ? Still 15 points clear of relegation with 13 games.

I do wonder if SM will call Uche a hinderance ?

This game showed how far we've fallen behind.
Low expections now. They played all the football.

Exactly. We are supposed to get excited about hoofing and hoping while sitting just outside our own box after taking a lead but the stats are what it's about as they are 4th

Realistic expectations I’d say. We’re near the bottom and they’re near the top. We came close to bring the first team to take 3 points off them for 15 games.

Absolute rubbish.

City played the perfect away first half. Allowed them one shot and we threatened on the break.

2nd half we got a great goal and then tried to close out the game.

Huddersfield lumped the ball into the box with the wind behind them and hoped.

Possession stats mean nothing. Peterborough had 70% possession against us and we beat them 4-0 and it could have easily been 7-0.

Tonight we let them have the ball until they were 20 yards outside the box and then quickly closed them down.

It worked for 88mins and even then neither of their goals were exactly cultured football !!

If we had held out it would have been the perfect away performance but we got done right at the end.

Massive change in approach and a sign of rising expectations when we’re disappointed losing at the end to a team in the top 4.

For me, A bearing on our defeat was some influential players getting booked and had to be taken off (Doyle and Hugill) We had 7 players booked with the 3 of them McGuiness, Doyle and Bagan were stupid bookings for embarrassing fouls in the oppositions half and the usual Vaulks Booking and Harris kicking the ball away ..... with our backs to the wall defending we nearly pulled it off ..... although on a good run not that impressed with Huddersfield

Too negative. Allowed them to cross so many times.

Bagan showed his inexperience and Vaulks was just a passenger again. When he plays it’s like we’ve got 10 men.

Disappointing last 20 minutes. Morison and Hudson need a different away tactic. We’re not good enough to soak up pressure with no pace on the break.

90% of their danger was from Thomas, he did look classy to be fair to him. Also they pumped balls in to where NG was and half the time had 2 men on NG, they targeted him and it paid off with the winner

Very frustrating to lose the game from two soft goals after playing well. Our defensive line was madness, we were 10 yards too deep, inviting Sorba to hit hopeful diagnonal balls into our box which we couldn't deal with. We needed Bamba's leadership tonight to see the game out. He would have been shouting at the team to push up, telling the defensive line to hold the box so every Sorba diagnonal into our box would be either catching them offside, or easily collected by Smithies. A lesson to learn for our manager and young defenders.

Was at the game and city played brilliant until hugill went off and Doyle.

Can't believe those being negative. The Conditions were abysmal and 2 long balls done us.

Bagai was brilliant tonight against a top quality winger so don't understand the critism of him?

Great support for a long wed night up north. Must been about 1100 at least ?
