Neil Critchley not surprised by Wintle impact
Blackpool boss Neil Critchley says he's not at all surprised to see Ryan Wintle emerge as a key man under Steve Morison at Cardiff.
The midfielder was signed and then immediately shipped out on loan by Mick McCarthy in the summer, and subsequently impressed during a brief spell at Bloomfield Road.
Morison decided to recall Wintle during the recent January transfer window, and the 24-year-old has since become a regular in the Bluebirds midfield.
He has largely impressed since his return to the capital, and that clearly comes of little surprise to his former boss.
“I’m not at all surprised by that,” Critchley told The Gazette ahead of Saturday's clash.
“Ryan was fantastic for us and I fully understood why Cardiff wanted to recall him in January.
“He’s gone into their team and has helped them improve their form because they’ve picked up some good results. That doesn’t surprise me."
