Swansea's game against Bournemouth is postponed after Storm Eunice wreaked havoc on the Liberty Stadium
By Charlotte Daly

Bournemouth's trip to Swansea City on Tuesday evening has been postponed because of the damage to the Liberty Stadium caused by Storm Eunice

A rearranged date for the Championship fixture will be announced in due course

The Championship clash had been scheduled to take place on Tuesday evening at 7.45pm (GMT). However, the fixture will now be rearranged for an alternative date.

Swansea's chiefs said there simply isn't enough time to repair the damages ahead of the Championship clash.

According to Swansea, the club's staff got in contact with AFC Bournemouth and the EFL as soon as the damage became visible.

The Licensing Authority and club management worked together to inspect the stadium but 'concluded that given the current weather conditions it would be impossible to undertake a full assessment of the damage and undertake the necessary repairs in advance of tomorrow's fixture.'

Apparently, the 'snow' excuse to postpone a game has already been used by someone...? ;) :laughing6:

Planet Slums are saying how relieved they are it's off as they couldn't take another hiding after Saturday. If I was the suspicious type, I'd say they've done a 'Derby' as there's no way that their tinpot stadium has been damaged enough to cancel the game. Hmmm.

I think it you are right, mate

Apparently, the biggest issue was the slips, trips and falls hazard caused by all the sodden books on the floors and escape routes :laughing6:

But on the plus side, that gave them an idea and there is now a plan to rebuild the Main Stand from Papier-mâché rather than the cheap stuff used before... ;)

:laughing6: Mate, their 'swimaway' song is based on the Jerks being cowards and now their 'falling down' song has also bitten them on the arse. Tinpot club, tinpot supporters and a tinpot ground that's fallen down.
