Still not convinced he can get the best out of our squad,and aim for promotion

I'm convinced he will need better players for next season.

Lets see what happens there first during the summer break.

Even now he is a bit of unknown quantity but with the support of the board he may turn out to be one of the best managers we've ever had.....or not. However, based on his tenure since the January window closed, you cannot fault the team's accumulation of points and their steady improvement in performance levels. At the very least he deserves a chance to show his worth next season. A big positive is that he does appear to have a good eye for a footballer and knows how to dovetail them seamlessly into the team. The same cannot be said for quite a few of our recent managers.

He did as well as could be expected in the January transfer window with no money to spend.
I would certainly consider offering him a one year contract and a summer transfer window to bring in a few bargain replacements for the loan players we will lose along with off-loading one or two of the squad.
But, any decision should be made towards the end of this season. Just don't rush into the decision yet!

I would hope that awarding MM a longer contract on the basis of a decent spell of results and the disastrous repercussions of that decision will serve as a salutary lesson to the board from now on. I agree with you that a one year contract for SM would appear to be a sensible approach for the board to take providing we maintain the progress shown under his stewardship till the end of the current season.

Mmmmmm chris doesnt leave a lot if not financially dependent? To early regarding new manager and be same for new owner isn't it?
