Steve Morison has a choice of Strikers now:

Who would you keep for next season?

With NO money available, can we get better or are these strikers capable of mounting a play -off challenge?

Will Jordon Hugil (on loan)l, Uche Ikpeazu( on loan) be available,Wilder Boro manager has already stated he wants money for him.

James Collins, Mark Harris, Isaak Davies, Jordon Hugil (on loan)l, Uche Ikpeazu( on loan) and Max Watters.

Hugill is apparently out of contract, wages could be an issue, but we are getting a lot of the wage bill in the summer so maybe not. a bigger issue might be who else comes in for him/ norwich wanting to keep him in the championship

Watters id keep, definintely a player in there but needs to knuckle down now.

i imagines Uche wont stay

Harris is improving, no reason to get rid

Collins will still be here

Obviously Davies will stay

forgot to mention Vassell for obvious reasons

In Summary, if we end up picking Hugill on a free i dont see another striker coming in, untill maybe the end of the window and another loan.

Hugill is clearly a cut above all of them. If he’s available and we can get him we would be daft not to try. He is exactly what we need as he showed on Tuesday.

I’d like to see what uche can do in more than just a 10 minute cameo before any decisions on him.

Davies and Harris are developing well. They will work well with someone like hugill

Collins for me hasn’t done it. Very committed but if we wanted someone that plays like he does then uche has done more in 2 cameos for me than Collins all season

Agree with the posts above. I think there’s a lot to be said for Hugill’ hold up play too, if it’s true that he’s out of contract then trying to get him is a no brainer.

I think Ikpeazu will play a bigger part as the season goes on, and posses a totally different threat to the others we have on the books. It’s a big if, but if we could get them both at the end of the season it’d be decent business :bluescarf:.

Hugill is contracted to Norwich until summer 2023 according to transfermarkt.

I agree with this except for Watters.
He just can’t hold the ball up or link up play. The difference when Hugill came on was immense not only to how he played but to how the team performed.

I’d also hold my judgement on Uche. He looks fine but he’s only played as two quick substitute appearances.

Good to see you back posting also.

Uche looks a big lump i doubt he would last 60 mins hugill showed watters how its done chasing down lost causes busting a gut to get on the end of a cross watters waits for the ball to come to him and
could'nt press a shirt
let alone a keeper or a player from the opposition

That would be a big disappointment because I would think, based on what I have seen, he's got to be around £5m.

The only hope is that if Norwich get relegated they may want to reduce their wage bill pretty quickly so might sell cheap and if he's enjoyed it here maybe we'd be in with a shout.

ha cheers,

it feels reactionary to me ( the watters comment) he needs to work on some stuff, no doubt, but hes completely different player to hugill. Focusing on the positives for a second, he had a poor game and was hauled off before HT, but still got into positions for our two best chances, i think he will score goals given the opportunity.

You might be right on Watters, the only weakness in your argument is that whilst he did get into position for the two best chances, he also missed them :o

The second chance was tricky but the early header should have been put away, simple as that. If we're saying he's an out and out goalscorer then if he's not scoring from decent chances he hasn't got anywhere to hide.

Did Rob tell you that he said no money?

I can’t see it anywhere that he said no money.

I remember people saying there would be no signings in January and there were ,hopefully the transfer committee can work the magic they did in January and the days of wasting money on mediocre players has gone .the use of the loan market is key and maybe a few additions for value for money signings unlike in the past ,we will soon see .

Given the choice right now, I'd get rid of Watters and Collins and keep the remaining 4.
