UPDATED: MICHAEL ISAAC v VINCENT TAN AND

Wed Feb 16, 2022 2:40 pm

MY VIEW:

This case I expect Tan to win, I will be gobsmacked if he loses.

I am following the case personally and will keep you all updated.

Tan will later today put his defence in on behalf of himself and Cardiff City holdings Ltd.

This trial is not expected to last more than a few more days in the High Court.

Wednesday 23rd February 2023

Just asked:

The Judge has summoned up.

UPDATED: Monday 21st February 2022

Last Thursday was all about the experts giving their evidence about the value of the Club in general and Isaac’s shares in particular. Friday the judge decided was an off day. I think there are now 2 more days .

Today Borley is expected to go in as a witness probably to say that it is the Board who do ALL the decisions and not Tan ….. . I think tomorrow the 2 QCs will sum up their final statements.

Most likely the judge will give his verdict later ….in weeks or even more.

UPDATED: Friday 18th February 2022

All witnesses have been up and spoke.

Tan never spoke.

Isaac spoke.

Apparently Michael Isaac will have to be given something for his shares by Tan.

UPDATED:

18/02/2021

An expert valuer yesterday examined and talked about the CCFC Shares.

Today shares are virtually worthless, Isaac says its not about today, its about how much they were worth back then.

Apparently last week Tan did offer something to Isaac.

Tan is currently 98.2% of Cardiff City.

UPDATED:

Michael Isaac v Vincent Tan and Cardiff City Holdings Ltd.

Isaac continually wanted to put forward how Tan had badly run Cardiff City.

Judge said. “While I sympathies with you Mr Isaac and I am not doubting you, We are to discuss and decide two things.”

So far Judge has not gone in favour of one thing Isaac has said.

1. “Value of your shares”

2. “Whether their was any unfair prejudice against you Mr Isaac.”

The high court case started on Monday one week later after the Judge asked last week if they could try and settle out of court.

The first couple of days so far have been the Judge saying No to a number of things that Michael Isaac wanted to put into the court.

Then it was both sets of Barristers presenting their cases.

Today Michael Isaac was expected to speak.

Michael Isaac has sued Tan, and Cardiff City Football Club (Holdings), and claims that his shareholding has been diluted.

A judge has been asked to consider a number of issues in the Isaac case, including whether Tan was responsible for "wrongly removing" him from his position as a director and whether a 2014 loan of £7.5 million was "falsely recorded" in financial records.

Tan says Isaac's claims should be struck out.

He says Isaac hopes to "air his grievances" regarding the running of the Championship club at a trial.

A number of issues had arisen, including: whether Tan "procured the dilution" of Isaac's shareholding; whether a March 2014 loan of £7.5 million, recorded as lent by Tormen Finance Inc, was "in fact advanced by Mr Tan" but "falsely recorded" in the club's financial records; whether Mr Tan was responsible for "wrongly removing" Isaac from his position as a director of the company; whether Tan "threatened" Isaac with "a Christmas message"; and whether Tan "procured the club" to issue and pursue a "vindictive claim" against Isaac.

Annis, so a lot more than diluting shares. It seems Issacs is not having much luck trying to bring things into evidence, judge turning things down. Getting very interesting. I still think that he will lose all his claims.

Roger,

Isaac wants to bring in how Tan is running the Club and says that’s why the club shares are now virtually worthless.
Judge has dismissed a lot of things Isaacs Barrister asked to present.

Annis he has no chance of that as the shares were dilated on the issue of new ones being issued so that VT could turn debt into equity.
The main thing is it is not illegal to issue a large amount of new shares which means every shareholder has his shares devalued, that is what happens. We will soon find out

Roger,

That’s why I will be gobsmacked if Isaacs wins.

Unless he has something unbelievable to state and proves it.

Re: Michael Isaac has sued Tan, and Cardiff City Football Cl

My issue with this case is that Isaac KNOWS he cannot win but this has been personal since Tan removed him from the board.

Therefore Issac will want to air all the clubs dirty laundry in public. This could get very messy and have lasting issues for the club just because of a spat between two men.

Interesting reading I just put one thing out Tan don’t lose many things and as the beat of the best legal teams - and trial won’t be cheap and if tan wins his costs will be very big as judge stated please try sort out of court :

Yes he will have to Mike.

Unless the judge out of the blue comes up With a reason not to, but it is very rare.

Can't see Isaacs winning this case and I agree it now seems all he wants to do is publicly air his vendetta/grievances with Tan

Doesn't matter what we think though, it seems the judge has the measure of what Isaacs is trying to do

Bigger battles to come in the coming weeks/months and (hopefully) this one will be over quickly :thumbright:
