I have purposely held back with my opinion of SM until now. I guess I wanted to be sure.
The results are going the right way but more importantly is the fact that we are playing some really nice football.
He clearly knows our younger players and knows, probably better than most, whether they are capable of Championship football. Isaak Davies, Colwill and now Bagan are proof of this.
To compliment this he clearly know the sort of loan players he wants - and I think each one will prove to be a success.
Ok so this season we will be very lucky to make the playoffs - but if we keep moving forward - and buy well in the summer - I really am looking forward to next season

Paul I for one hope we can keep Hugill an excellent player

Same thoughts though given last nights performance the squad as a whole is not quite there yet.But next season if he's backed playoffs minimum.

B-b-but he says true things that might upset some of our players who are too sensitive to bother trying during games!
I am really enjoying SM, think he’s done an excellent job and really hope we stick with him for next season. I remember listening to him co-commentate on Cardiff city tv a while back, and his knowledge and philosophy was plain to see then.
Personal I’m hoping we keep at the minimum (of loan players and those out of contract):
Steve Morison
Flint
Ralls
Hugil
Uche
Doyle
Maybe smithies if he takes a big pay cut, but I’ll be happy with Phillips
Flint

Promotion may be a stretch, but certainly to be in or around the playoffs would be pretty acceptable as a measure of progress.
But we will need to get a striker in of the same sort of quality as Hugill. He's made a huge difference in how we play.
Using the loan market for young, Prem quality players (like Doyle and Drameh this season) is a must and then back that up with more established Championship performers and you're in with a chance.

Assuming he gets the job, he's going to have the bare bones of a squad in the summer, he's, or whoever is the manager actually, will have to bring a lot of players in, a solid 10/12 in total I'd imagine. Yes he seems to have used the loan market well in January, and would have to do it again next season. But we also need a whole new team.
It's a lot to ask anyone to get promotion from there.
For me, we've had a good run, but I wouldn't make a decision on giving him a permanent contract until the season is over.

I really like Morison. We’ve all got to bare in mind he’s still a young manager and will make mistakes but I hope he carries on learning with us. I get excited about games again now. Under McCarthy it was “how many are we going to lose by today”. Now we’re in with a good chance in every game. He had a fantastic window, hopefully they give him some money to spend in the summer because he’s still got 6/7 players in the squad that aren’t upto it.
My only worry is another club may come calling and he can walk away in the summer for free. Very good coach and whilst he has made some mistakes as manager so far you can tell he’s learning from them already. I would have liked them to have waited until half time to sub Watters, but if the game had carried on as it was then we would have been lucky not to be behind at half time.

He may have money to spend on transfers next season maybe the likes of hugill etc but it depends on the outcome of court cases tan i am sure will dip in his pocket if all goes well with sala case
he can surely see things are more stable things are better between
fans/ manager
results and style
But it will need a big re build especially if all our present loans go elsewhere and the aged crop we have are ditched
but i am looking forward to the future and the present and its been a long time coming
playing with the ball on the ground getting back to something more like a dave Jones team and finally ditching the HOOF.

True, the Sala outcome will be really important, if that goes our way and that money could be released, that could be a very interesting season !!!

His introduction of so many home grown players is the stand out achievement so far, but the way he handled the transfer window showed he's really clued up in this area too. I'd be delighted if he gets the job for next season.

Hugill especially for me, because it sounds like he was the number one guy morison wanted, and Hugills all round play just fits perfectly. I think it's easier to sign young players like Doyle and dramah, but to get someone like hugill who's not been playing much, probably low on confidence and hit him into the side like he's always been there is a highlight for sure.

Should have given him an extension by now.

Why? There's absolutely no rush to do so

Very impressed with him so far but me and my mates discussed this last night and personally he would do well to hit mid table next season given the amount of out of contract players we have lack Of funds as well likely we will need 10/12 new players trying to get them wheeling and dealing before the season starts for any kind of pre-season will be impossible especially if we have to rely on 5 loans again as well which won’t be until late august when we’ve already gone 3/4 games into the season
However given how he’s done so far in the transfer market give the bloke two full transfer windows with some cash (hopefully) and we might well see a solid squad for the season after

How much say did he have in the loans ?
He has a short term contract, two weeks ago the jury was out on here about sackng him early. I'd love to know who finds these gems. Hugil was known but a kid in Leeds U23, a lad in Hamburg and a youngster who couldn't get in the Stoke team.
Watters is not a disaster, NG and Wintle have been great recruits (Collins was Micks)
My fear is it is a massive rebuild and it could be make or break. Malky got it right. Warnock & Ole's championship year doomed us to Slade and McCarthy.
I liked the call yesterday, if i was assured whatever we are doing with recruitment was continuing i wouldn't worry about appointing him
