A DISGRACE CARDIFF GET A £10,000 FINE

Mon Feb 14, 2022 6:35 pm

Barnsley and Cardiff City have been fined by the Football Association following their Championship encounter at Oakwell on 2 February.

The FA "alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players and/or club officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour".

Barnsley, who admitted their charge, have been fined £12,000.

Cardiff denied their charge but were fined £10,000.

An independent regulatory commission found the charge against Cardiff to be proven.

Players and coaches from both sides clashed after the final whistle following Cardiff's 1-0 victory.

When Barnsley assistant boss Joseph Laumann confronted Bluebirds manager Steve Morison as he headed towards the tunnel, Cardiff's players leapt to his defence.

"I was just celebrating with our fans like I do with every away game we win," Morison said of the incident.

"I didn't know the guy [Laumann] was running down the touchline to greet me as I went down the tunnel."

A disgrace indeed, but did you really expect any different?
