Will Vaulks £10:

Sat Feb 12, 2022 8:27 pm

My young nephew was on the Supporters bus tonight saw the players in the services on the way home from Millwall and went over to Will Vaulks and said I put a £10 on you to get a yellow card today

3 minutes later Vaulks said wait there and went back on the players coach and returned with £10 and insisted he keep it and laughed and shook his hand

People may say ‘ah he earns enough’ but good on Vaulks. Many players would have completely ignored fans let alone doing what he did.

I saw earlier that he also gave a young lad his shirt and he's also got his boots. I love it when players do these things, its a memory for life for young Bluebirds. Vaulks also does a lot for the community too.

Yes he did loads during lockdown without wanting any recognition. Good on you Will.

I bet on him to get booked at Anfield - worked a treat last week.

When he gave him the boots - were they both left footed ones ? ....:)

seriously though - players may not realise how much it means to young kids to have a bit of banter with the players and especially if they do something like this.

Shame about the result today - but at least a happy ending

I'm glad to hear these stories about Vaulks.

As a player i feel the odd one out here because I think he is excellent. No he does not do the fancy stuff because that is not his job. He does the dirty stuff that none of us appreciate. When a attack breaks down it him busting a gut to get back and its him putting in that tackle to disrupt the oppositions play. Let's get to the point, those of you that knock him have got him all wrong.

I say give him another contract.

I’m with you. I don’t see why he gets so much stick. Pops up with great goals too.

No ones knocking his break up play and work ethic. It's his work on the ball we need to improve on. A decent squad player to have but he's nowhere near good enough to bea starting figure in my opinion.

For gods sake
My mother could hand over £10 give away a shirt and also does loads of community charity work unseen
but would be sh.t as a midfielder the same as vauks
Just compare vauks to a few midfielders we' ve had gunnarsson camarrasa etc bloody miles behind them

Come on really

perhaps he should get a job with UNICEF or head of a charity organisation because he would make a much better fist of it than a footballer.

Sorry. Monty but that’s unfair mate.
As I’ve said earlier, it’s no massive deal what he did but I’d imagine the large proportion of players wouldn’t have even acknowledged the young fan let alone go and get the £10 as a bit of fun.
I’ve seen videos of what he’s done re helping out in the community and good for him and anyone else who died this.
Footballing ability dies not even come into it imo.

Sorry if you where offended
But putting people on a pedestel for things that most of us would to for a little kiddy i find rediculious
but will say sorry if anyone was offended by by my remarks
Loads of players do lots of unseen work i was at the peterborough game in the canton end
at the end colwill came over and gave his shirt to the young lad that had a placard up wanting his shirt which was very touching
but i have seen loads of this and behind the scenes charity stuff including in the community from loads of footballers .

Monty I wasn’t offended mate just saying that his / someone’s ability as a footballer shouldn’t cover anything he / anyone died for charity / community.
I guess I’m just pleased that some players clearly have hearts in the right place when many currrently in the news seem not to. Not putting in pedestal, just good to hear.

He's a Welsh N'golo Kante

Re: Will Vaulks £10:

I've always like Vaulks. I think that he was very unfortunate to be dropped firstly by Warnock after Reading away 2 years ago, then by Mick McCarthy ( or was it Harris?).

Am sure he feels very hard done by, especially not getting into a team that has clearly underperformed as a group.

He's aggressive, gets in oppositions faces and we have no other players like that. He can score screamers, has the throw, and gets about the pitch.

He makes errors, but like Bacuna his errors are always highlighted. With the regime trying to push through Their youth agenda, Vaulks must have felt out on a limb and his performances mirrored that.

Re: Will Vaulks £10:

BARCLAY 1

When did vaulks last score a screamer for us
the long throw results in nothing but time wasting and slowing the game down

The referee does more running around than vaulks
I just don' t see anythung in his game that mskes me want to applaud him
and is that all he could afford a £ TENNER as a pro footballer.

A good bloke maybe but he’s still a very limited and average footballer at this level.
City cannot offer him a new contract surely.
