Chris Wilder vouched for 'great lad' Uche

Morison has also spoken about how much of a breath of fresh air Uche Ikpeazu has been around the place since his deadline-day signing.

Ikpeazu has quickly endeared himself to Cardiff fans, as the lion's share of Boro supporters on social media knew he would, with two goals in as many games for his new side.

But it is his effervescent character and seemingly boundless joy which has really grabbed the attention of the Bluebirds faithful. After Morison's conversation with Boro boss Chris Wilder, though, it is no surprise to him what a top person Ikpeazu is.

STEVE MORISON:

"He's a great lad," Morison said. "When I rang Chris Wilder to ask if he was available, that was the message back from them.

"We don't just go out and sign players, you have to find out a hell of a lot more about them.

"He is a great character, a great lad. They all are. The feedback we had off of all the players prior to signing them was how good lads they were.

"Uche, I didn't speak to him until the morning he signed. But everything I'd heard from others was that he was a great kid and someone who is good to have around.

"He is only 26 as well. He gives you what you need.

"I thought it was great the other night, every time the ball went near him there was this great expectation he was going to put the ball up his top and run around with it!

"To get the goal was good as well because it showed he was a top footballer as well. It was a good run and finish."

“Uche, I didn’t speak to him until the morning he signed” ……. Just goes to show that the ‘regime’ ( ) have done an excellent job in this transfer window.
Although, no credit will be given from the usual negative posters like old Victor Meldrew!
