Was against McCarthy being given his long term contact early, but am happy to go on record that we need to tie Morison down now.

With MM we may have had better results before the extension, but with those results was no real identity aside from just get the win.

It’s taken a while to properly come together, but Morison has stuck to his guns, and shown that he can identify players in the market that fill needed areas in the team, instead of our history of just signing players and hoping it works. Also, the fact that Man City were willing to send one of their hottest prospects to us following a presentation speaks volumes.

No rush but it may be that he does have some idea as to what he's doing.

I think he has showed that he can turn around our fortunes. But I can understand why Tan hasn’t rushed into tying him up quite yet after last year with MM. Let’s at least be almost certainly clear from getting relegated then we can look towards giving him a contract.
We must also remember that up until this window, he was having to trying to fit square pegs into round holes with the squad he had. Now he has got the targets he wanted and the difference in performances has been huge, and very enjoyable to watch. I have got that excitement back for the next game again now, which had started to wane over this season. And long may it continue.

We can’t make this mistake again; still a long way to go and Tan needs to keep both the players and Morison ‘hungry’.

We had a great performance against Forest, a poor one against Barnsley and another great one tonight - the acid test will be Millwall, Coventry and Blackpool over the next 10 days. If performances and results hold up over those few games then we will get a real sense of the progression.

Let's get to the end of the season, he has a job to finish first. If he cab do that, then offer him a contract and back him in the summer.

With the plan of playing majority youngsters and loans etc then SM surely has the advantage of being in line with the job come summer. I hope its not a case of leaving it too late and he does a massive turnaround with the club and get other clubs interested in him.
But thats football and if he gets contract and we go down or near bottom etc then people be saying ffs why give him a 3yr deal

You have to remember
MM played the game with Tan.
-Supported by Warnock
-Super start
-Then punting it out that Celtic were after him.

Probably forced Tans hand there....

Keep them all hungry. No rush.
