MY VIEW / OPINION:ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMANCES OF THE SEASON

Wed Feb 09, 2022 9:34 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMANCES OF THE SEASON BY THE BLUEBIRDS.

THIS PROBABLY WAS ONE OF CARDIFF’S MOST IMPORTANT GAMES OF THE SEASON & THEY DID NOT LET THE FANS DOWN WITH A FANTASTIC NIGHT OF ENTERTAINING FOOTBALL.

JOE RALLS OUTSTANDING TONIGHT & A LEADER.

That’s 3 league wins a row for Steve Morison’s Bluebirds, 9pts

First-half: First 15mins , City scored and hit the post twice, some great football. Then Flint about 8mins before half-time made it 2nil. Well Deserved :bluebird:

Second-half: absolutely spot on and excellent performance and solid. :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

CARDIFF CITY 4 PETERBOROUGH 0
H-T 2-0
Crowd 17,297
Away Support 270

5th Min Joe Ralls scored an early goal.

38th MIn Aden Flint shot 2nil.
Bounced the once in front of Flint and he slotted home with a marvellous finish

H-T 2-0

GOAL! Cardiff City 3-0 Peterborough (Hugill)
What a goal.

It's was a remarkable run down the right from Drameh, who motored his way down the right, skipping past what feels like the entire Peterborough team before he layed on an inch-perfect cross for Hugill, who applied the finish.

70th min Joe Ralls was replaced by Will Vaulks.

75th min Hugill was replaced by Uche.

80th min Rubin Colwill came in for Doyle.

84th min Uche scored.

Best performance of the season.

Well done everyone. Particularly enjoyed Flint's goal... didn't belive it was him who scored! Haha

Can’t remember the last time I enjoyed watching us play as much as tonight. Davies, Doyle and Drameh were absolutely superb. But I must give a big mention to Wintle, since he’s come into the team in the deep lying role we’ve been so much better. It then allows Ralls and Doyle to do their work and I think this midfield trio is the best we’ve seen for a long time going off the early signs.

He must be pleased with that performance; he even got a Colwill assist from it, and 2 of his loan signings scoring.

Will be a hard job to pick a man of the match out of that perhaps we will have a choice of the whole team in stead of none.

Couldn’t agree more, they just work so well together. The confidence in and around the squad must be sky high at the moment, there just seems to be a real togetherness.

Great performance and crucial win.

12 points clear of bottom three now, should make for a much more comfortable second half of season.

Everyone brilliant but especially Cody Drameh, Tommy Doyle, Isaak Davies and Joe Ralls.

Drameh definitely my MOTM :thumbright:

I agree mate Wintle the no nonsense player who just does his job.

Great performance and a welcome comfortable win.

Peterborough are not that bad aside with some good players in there. They don't have that cutting edge like we did tonight and that was the difference between the sides. If we can continue to improve there we will be safe, still a bit of a way to go.

Exactly - we are now seeing the real Joe Ralls. There is a balance in midfield that he is thriving off and his run into the box to score is exactly what having Wintle sit deep, allows Joe to do. He must be given a new contract.

Drameh was unreal tonight - their left back just couldn’t handle him. His energy, determination, pace and quality were incredible.

So many good performances all over the pitch and really pleased for Davies who got the start his recent performances have deserved and he was brilliant for the 90.

What a contrast in performance to the away game.

Very enjoyable. Played good football, aggressive in the challenge, aggressive without the ball. Touch tight marking and a lot of energy.

We scored at very good times to take the game away from the Opposition. Posh were very poor, it we were professional.

Can we continue the Improvements?

Currently being on the other side of the world It was great to wake up and see that City won 4-0 and what seems like a great performance . Will be back for the next home game and let’s hope it is to watch city going for 5 consecutive wins

Great to see us thump a team but playing good football to match. Haven't seen that in a long time.

Drameh was the obvious man of the match. Hugill led the line superbly and if he continues Moore won't be missed.

Centre mid is where I think we've improved massively. Tommy Doyle's crossing from set pieces is the best we've had since Whitts.

Only slight negative for me is Bagan. I thought he improved as the game went on but first half he kept going backwards when there was space to run into. I don't think he is quick enough for the wing back roll. Only time will tell.

So do you think Max Watters will get a run in the team going forwards, if not why did they recall him from MK Dons?
Do you think he's out the door in the summer?

I personally like Watters as a player, his off the ball movement is brilliant and his goal scoring record speaks for itself, so for me I’d like to keep him. His last performance was at Barnsley where nobody played well, so that stick’s in everyone’s mind. I do think at the moment he is behind Isaak Davies, and rightly so he’s become a real threat over this last month. I don’t think SM expected Davies to have improved this much when he recalled Watters.

Tend to agree about Watters. He is really just an out and out goal scorer and you won’t get that much else out of him. Davies deserves to be ahead of him at the moment as his pace and work rate causes a lot of problems for other teams. Davies is showing every sign of being a very good championship player.

For me last night was the best home performance for many a year and built on an excellent win against an impressive Notts Forest last week. Every player was on it from the first to last minute and it was clear Steve Morison had a plan in place and the players seemed to revel in it. Drameh was not going to be on the losing side last night and so many others had excellent games.

But this morning I've been thinking Steve Morison has done his reputation no harm whatsoever in the last 2 weeks and it's starting to look like the club have a decision to make otherwise I can see another club come calling.

I think Morison wanted to take a closer look at him in this team and, maybe, he's already made up his mind ?

On current form would anyone pick him in front of Hugill, Davies. Uche, Harris or even Collins ? I thought he was OK against Forest without really threatening but against Barnsley he just didn't do enough work for me.
