ROONEY What an idiot

it has emerged in an interview that he wore long studs in a match against Chelsea in 2006 to deliberately injury a Chelsea player, the FA are all over this!
This is a dreadful admission which which at the time he was a top England international, its likely that this sort of thing does happen from time to time but to openly state he did it and it sends the worst possible message about the whole game of Football.
Rooney should not be trusted with managing a professional Club with this open attitude to thuggery.

It reminds me of the Roy Keane tackle on Alf-Inge Haaland - could have ended the poor blokes career there and then. Keane was fined £5,000 and suspended for three games initially but following Keane's admittance that the assault was intentional, he was fined an extra £150,000 and suspended for a further five games.

He should have been charged with GBH in my opinion!!!

Yes - some think the laws should be applied differently on a football field. Some sportsmen think they are so famous or important so as to be above the law (though this assumption is not confined to sportsmen). Unless they can explain why these things should be the case, then we don't really want to hear from them. The moral issue here is that intent to injure someone, even as part of a game, should be a criminal offence.

As bad as 'kicking your cat and filming it' for me; both despicable acts and both despicable human beings...
