‘ Oliver Denhsm ‘

The Manchester United Accademy centre back, who can also play on the right side of defence, was released by the Old Trafford club summer 2020.

Cardiff gave him a trial last Summer and Denhsm who will be 20 years old later this year was then signed up by the Welsh Club.

Oliver Denhsm:

“It's all about taking chances like today, giving the manager something to think about for the next games. The Saturday-Tuesday schedule is going to be tough, so I just hope I can help whenever I'm needed."

Oliver Denhsm:

“I've been playing a lot in the U23 team, doing what I know I can do well, to try and impress the manager. I knew that my chance would come.”

"I thought that as a team, in the first half, we really dug in deep." he began. "We didn't let them score, and we really showed a lot of team spirit.

"We tried to replicate that in the second half with a bit more expansiveness. It's just unlucky to concede those goals. They weren't too special, and we could have stopped them.

"We know that Liverpool have top class players, and we knew what qualities they have. We just had to deal with them in the way that we know we can, and try to stop them."

Massive fixtures ahead and many mid week matches, so we will need every player.

He was excellent on Sunday and seems a great prospect but imo he should be brought in slowly for the odd game. Someone has mentioned in a thread that he should partner McGuiness in a back 4. Personally I think we’d get slaughtered there purely due to lack of experience.
Not a negative post just my opinion. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

I agree.

We now have the opportunity to give these youngsters the odd game or two rather than relying on them.

Ng, Flint and McGuinness have played well as a three but Denham looks a better fit for the new style than Nelson should there be any more injuries or suspensions. Left back could be a problem for a few weeks with Doughty out though  :o

Denham certainly surprised me with the way he played particularly as centre backs tend to take a little longer to break through than other positions. Looks a real prospect after that showing.

Agree with what’s said above about slowly bringing him into the match day squad and if needed he can come on for the last 10/15 minutes. Let’s get safe from relegation first and then we can have the luxury of bringing in the youngsters to gain some experience. At the minute with our league position we need to just go with what’s worked the previous two games and not change too much.

Can't agree Wez. we need to get safe first before playing him in any other role than as a sub atm.

Oliver Denham signed for us in the summer of 2020.His contact runs out this coming June. Even before his excellent showing yesterday at Anfield he has performed extremely well for our very successful under 23 side this season. I therefore feel the City transfer committee should now make it a priority we extend his contract as soon as possible before another club comes and steels him from us.

Very impressed with him yesterday.

Due to the injuries to both Doughty and Morrison, I wouldn't be surprised to see him start on Wednesday.

I think that's a good team although I would start with Bagan and have Denham on the bench. Thought Bagan had a decent game yesterday. I also hope Joe Ralls will be fit and start instead of Vaulks. Otherwise my team would be the same as Worcester"s.

I wonder if any of the young kids will play on Weds night?

There certainly seems to be much competition for places than before. Mayb ethe hungry kids have given a kick the backside to the regular starters
