But Annis, we were playing the South Wales favourite darlings. Did you really expect anything different? :laughing5:

I actually never met a Scouser or heard one yesterday , they were from Wales, The Midlands, Scotland and places like Staffordshire.

Klopp didn't think it was a red because he wasn't the last man. Forgetting about the facts he lunged in with studs up at ankle height.

Yep, the last man point is debatable but nobody, including the pundits, are questioning that was a high, reckless tackle where he is out of control.

I must admit, in real time I thought it was a booking just because of the cover available but I just can't see how VAR can miss that

I think it's called "selective interpretation".. :laughing5: :laughing5: It happens all the time where the "big" clubs are involved.

Utter bollocks. Harris was guaranteed the next touch of the ball which could have been a placement into an empty goal. As happened with the Iheanacho goal for Leicester less then 2 hours later. If the foul had been made by a defender with the goalie still in place then he'd have a point. But the goal was empty and its ridiculous to suggest it was anything other than a clear goal scoring opportunity denied. The problem with VAR is its becoming subjective. Not so much on the incident but on how hard they work to get the decision they want.

What is stupid is if the defender had made that tackle and the goalkeeper was still in his goal, then the defender would have been sent off as the last man.

However because the keeper made the tackle and a defender was still there, they deemed the keeper as not being the last man. That is stupid for a couple of reasons:

1. Whether it was the keeper or defender there would have at best still only been 1 player between Harris and the goal. So the keeper was the last man.
2. The keeper was well out of his area
3. The defender can’t use his hands to stop the ball so if Harris had got around the keeper, Harris would have had to just beat a player who couldn’t use key part of his body.

And all this before the fact that the tackle was out of control and reckless.

Would we have won the game if he had gone - probably not. But I can’t understand how VAR can come to the conclusion they did and didn’t even refer it back to the ref to take another look at. Did anyone notice how few replays and angles they showed of it as well?

I’m not normally one to believe in big boys getting all of the decisions, but that was a travesty and one that you KNOW if Phillips had done that to Jota would have resulted in a red card.

Totally agree with you on the last man thing and the fact that its worse cos the defender cant handle it. I was trying to make this point to a few people but they just couldn,t see it

Just seen the Brighton sending off at United and its just confirmed my current frustrations. Those that control VAR desperate to send the Brighton defender off and made the ref change his mind. In no way was that a better goal scoring opportunity than Harris would have had if he had not been taken out.
