Loads of positives recently

Sun Feb 06, 2022 3:51 pm

For me over the last few weeks:

- Better playing style
- Not missing the big earners - Bacuna, Morrison etc. Even Smithies who is a top earner.
- Youngsters doing really well, especially today. Doyle, Bagan, King, McG, I thought Denham was great at 19, Isaac Davies who I think is a top player, Mark Harris played really well today... And Colwill, I like him but when given his chance needs to do more for me, did well today!!!

Couple more wins and then onward and upward next year.

Stick with Morrison, he's building something.

I'd let the following go Sean Morrison (great servant but he'll be even slower with his ACL), Vaulks, Pack, Bacuna, even Smithies to offload his wages. Collins is not good enough. League one is his level. I also don't think Nelson is our future, not good enough on the deck.

New contracts for Flint and Ralls, more loans and maybe a couple of signings :bluescarf:

agree with all of that - if we can survive this season we have the basis of a decent squad especially if we persuade a couple of the loanees to stay with the wages we save on those we let go. The one who we will probably be stuck with is Bacuna as nobody will take him on £25000 a week. Might be better to pay up his contract and let him go.

Denham was the major positive.
Morison can have no concerns in picking him in the championship. Time to ditch Flint and go a back 2 with him and McGuinness

Bacuna's contract has lately been reported as up this season, so not an issue

The other positive has to be the exposure the young lads are having to first team football. It’s quite feasible that (to varying degrees) these lads will go into next season having already had a fair bit of exposure to the championship.
