Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is anticipating a fantastic A

Sun Feb 06, 2022 8:39 am

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is anticipating a fantastic Anfield atmosphere today as nearly 7,000 Cardiff City fans head to Anfield for the FA Cup clash.

The Army of Bluebirds travelling supporters will be looking to out-sing Liverpool's own world famous Kop in the mouth-watering fourth round showdown.

And Klopp is anticipating a full-on cup tie made extra special by the two sets of fans roaring on their respective teams, despite the early kick-off time.

In his manager’s column in the Reds’ official matchday programme, Klopp welcomes Steve Morison and his players to Merseyside and says: “I’m informed there is a big following coming from Wales for our visitors and I remember from playing Cardiff previously that their fans are full of passion and voice.

"That’s cool – really cool.”

Klopp says of Morison: “It is clear from the analysis we have done he is already putting his stamp on the team and club.

"He took over with them having a difficult time in the Championship, but I think they have the tools and leadership to steer away from danger and enjoy a more stable second half of the season.

“Steve was an internal appointment, I believe, having started his coaching career with younger age-groups when he retired from playing.

"This is such a smart pathway and I wish him and his staff nothing but success for the rest of the season – after today, of course.

“Today will be really tough for us. We know Cardiff will see this as a massive opportunity for themselves. We know they will come with an expectation of winning. We know they will be on the front foot. So we have to be ready. It really is that simple.”

Liverpool fans have not made a sound all game.

A bit embarrassing on their part

Probably a lot of their fans were the usual "football tourists" who can only get tickets for Cup games where the usual season ticket holders can't be arsed to pay extra for when the game is on the telly.

I remember games against Arsenal away and Man United where the ground was virtually empty of home fans with ten minutes to go.

Had this chat with my Livarpool mate. Not really an excuse though is it?!

If they're so proud of their self proclaimed best in world atmosphere then they've got to turn up!

Very poor show from them.
