A reality check

Well it didn't take long for the thoughts of us winning the league to disappear did it?

I think that there can be no doubt that when we have our best team available we are a match for anyone but if the last two games have proven anything it's that the squad is not good enough. Now whilst I accept that we have been unlucky with injuries we are going to have to accept that for most of the season we are going to be without one or other of our main players.

Let's ask this question - how many games this season do you think Olofinjana, Drinkwater, Bothroyd, Bellamy and Chopra will play in together?

I cannot see it being any more than 10 and probably less. Has DJ gambled everything on players with poor injury records?

I love Kevin Mcnaughton but as a poster has already pointed out he now seems incapable of playing two games in a row. If Riggot signs will he stay fit? Do we really think that we'll see Bellamy play against Millwall next Saturday, Palace on the Tuesday and Barnsley away the following Saturday? Let's face it, despite what Blazing saddles may say, it's not going to happen.

Jay didn't look fully fit today. Koumas is taking forever to get fit, Gerrard was so unfit he was sent on loan, What the f**k is going on at our training ground and in our physio's room?

Dave Jones should be a worried man tonight. Time and again players like Rae, Hudson and Mcphail have shown that they are not good enough to tke that next step. Keogh has shown nothing so far other than a willingness to run about like a headless chicken.

I really hope that at the end of this season Dave Jones is still our manager. I don't say that because I'm a fan of his, in fact it's quite the opposite. I say it because the only way I can see him still being our manager at the end of the season is if we have acheived promotion.
