To avoid the scallies, I’d park in Chester :bluescarf:
Seriously, that’s not a bad idea mate. 40 min train straight into Liverpool

Been to Anfield loads of times . Here's some tips for parking. Don't bother trying to park near the near the ground as it's all controlled parking. (With the exception of the rider below they'll also ticket on any odd spots like waste ground, central reservations) If you don't want to pay at all the CPZ stops at Queens Drive so try Lauriston Road and Hurlingham road and adjacent streets. There is an Asda here and a McDonald's if you want to eat. It takes 15/20 minutes to walk to the ground from here but as your on the opposite side of the main drag Queens Drive from the ground you should get a rapid getaway if your going back to the M62. (On arrival watch for the speed camera towards the end of the 62 it's actually fixed and on the motorway)
If your very very early there's free parking either side of Utting Avenue Gardens in the cpz which in reality is a tiny verge in the middle of Utting Avenue which is the road you will walk up from the earlier parking spot. About 5 mins closer to the ground.
If anyone's drinking there's parking and a good bar before and after the match on York Terrace at a small Catholic I think club/church. I've paid about a fiver here to park on a grassed area. But it you want a beer or two after and wait for the rush to go I've used this before. Slightly closer to the ground but on the other side of the ground from the previous spot. There's a top bakery that serves pies pasties etc at the end of ventmore street or one of the adjacent streets you'll know it as they serve out of a window as well as inside. Much better than the other stuff around here.
There we are I knew all this rubbish would come in handy one day!

We normally use https://www.justpark.com/?gclsrc=aw.ds& ... ZlEALw_wcB This provides details ranging from private car parks, business premises and private driveways which we generally consider than on the road or even in a car park. Quite often these can be close to the ground
