Steve Morison: “ Isaak Davies “

Thu Feb 03, 2022 7:55 am

STEVE MORISON:

“I thought Isaak Davies, when he came on for Max Watters was phenomenal. He changed the game.”

"Big Uche comes on and does what big Uche can do - he stuck two of them on his back and stuck the ball in the back of the net!

"Fantastic team effort with a clean sheet."

Totally disagree.

Davies was pushed off the ball and outsprinted every time I saw him play. I really don't understand why Morison said this.

That's what I thought.

Better than saying he was ineffective I suppose.
Imo he was ok, and certainly pinned their back line back a little but I do agree that when 1:1 with one of their big centres backs he was out sprinted which I found odd as I thought that was one of his main assets.

Davies done well. His speed was causing them issues and he worked his socks off. Had alot more impact than Watters in the short time he was on the pitch.

Watters belongs in the lower leagues.

Davies, the jury is out, need to see much more of him.

Agree on Watters, but Davies I thought played very well but needs to do that regularly.

A few times he travelled with the ball from his own half all the way to their penalty area taking the pressure off. Showed he was doing the job Morison asked him to do.

Can't believe people think he played poorly. He was exactly what we needed at that stage and, to me, looks like he's improving every time he plays, unlike a few of the other youngsters.

I tbought issaak did fine but not his usual pace but

Judging by the side lines the pitch looked very heavy whether this had a baring on us looking outpaced and the home side where more used to playing on a heavy pitch i noticed smithies slipped a few times when takung a goal kick

Like Morison I thought that davies made a difference when he came on, have been impressed with his improvement in the last few games, is definately the most improved of the academy players who have played for the first team this season.

I thought he did well. He is certainly able to attack and take defenders on. Not sure he’s ready to be a starter week in week out. But he does change the pace of the game later on.

Phenomenal is a bit extreme but I guess it's better than saying he took Watters off because he was a hindrance?

I thought he played well, he is learning on the job and i am quite surprised he is ahead of Harris in the pecking order. He is nowhere near championship starter level yet, but has only played a handful of games.

Its a shame we had such a poor squad this season as he should be racking up goals and experience in L2 or the conference.

He did his job when he came on and stretched play.

It would be great if we can get into mid table and have a few meaningless games at the end of the season to start him whatever happens.

Spot on done exactly what he was ment to. People on this board expect the lad to come on during a scrappy physical game on a cow field and light the world on fire. The pressure/judgement on these youngsters from our fans is laughable at times. No perspective whatsoever.

True.. this is the 2nd most competitive league in the world, and he’s an apprentice in it.
