this isn't a dave jones out post but...

Sat Sep 18, 2010 5:21 pm

i don't want to sack dave jones, i believe he should have this season to prove himself, if he fails i personally feel there is no other option than to sack him.

now i'm not a dave jones fan, never have been, for many reasons e.g having favourites in the squad, no plan b, but what i find most frustrating is that he always plays his player out of position!

now, we all know whittingham is a winger, and koumas plays through the middle, so why oh why does he still feel the need to play whittigham through the middle and koumas wide? it's unbelievable really :?

other example of this was kennedy, came to the club as a left midfield, yet jones decides to put him left back!?

any way rant over, i still believe this is our year and we're going to smash MILWALL on saturday!

BLOOOOOOOOOOBIRDSSSSS :ayatollah:

Personally i think Kennedy never should've been brought in, for me he was just a waste of wages.

Although, once he was a ccfc player he didn't have the legs to continue as a flying winger so where else was he to play ?

I can't justify why D.J insists on playing Koumas out wide, but i think he brings Whitts into the middle to offer the creativity, vision and ability to pick out a pass that not many championship players possess.

I think it was against Sheffield United that he brought Whitts into the middle and we looked a different side for better. :old:

so your saying that koumas dosn't have creativity? that he dosn't have vision? and dosn't have the ability to pick a pass?

koumas has all of those attributes and personally i think he's BETTER than whittingham in the areas you picked out, the main reason i think koumas should play through the middle istead of PW is because koumas is DIRECT. he is willing to take players on where as whittingham looks offload and go back to much IMO. :ayatollah:

yes, whittingham did look class against sheffield untied, but that was because of the sending off, he dropped deep, he had all the time in the world, i would expect any half decent centre midfielder in the championship with the time he had to dominate the game.

as for kennedy, yes he was a just a waste, but you don't play for liverpool and suddenly lose it, when we singed trevor sinclair we didn't put him right back did we?

Koumas is a wide midfielder. He had a great season with us wide left or right setting up loads of goals for Cameron Jerome and others and scoring a fair few himself.

I disagree, I much prefer witts in CM of a 3 and Koumas isn't fit enough to play CM.
Like above poster said koumas has played wide a lot.

How often have we seen him in CM though?

In saying that I think the chances of seeing him in CM in a 442 was zero. I can see him playing CM in the current formation but not ahead of mcphail or witts.

numerous occasions, koumas is an attacking midfielder, my point in this post was that he should be playing central ( his natural position ) and PW wide ( his natural position ) :ayatollah:

No where did i say that? i was just saying why whitts is brought into the middle and currently koumas is not match fit.

Also i never said kennedy lost it. i said he had lost his pace which does happen with age.

you were implying that he didn't because you would put whittingham in the middle because he's got better assessts than koumas.

kennedy was never a flying winger in the first place was he? he was a cultured player like whittingham
