Rubin Colwill helps architect remarkable under-23s comeback at Bristol City :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City under-23s produced a stunning turnaround against Bristol City outfit to pull back three goals and earn a 3-3 draw.

The Robins fielded first-team players Tommy Conway, Sam Bell, Ayman Benarous, Danny Simpson and Nahki Wells in their under-23s side.

By contrast, Cardiff played only Rubin Colwill and Sam Bowen in terms of recognised senior players.

The Robins' quality showed early doors, when striker Wells put the hosts ahead before Conway doubled the lead before the break.

Wells looked to have put the game to bed by notching his second just before the hour, but Darren Purse's side picked themselves up off the canvas.

Colwill pulled back the first goal, smashing home a well-hit free-kick from 20 yards out on the 70-minute mark.

Ibrahim Bakare popped up six minutes later to bring the deficit back to just one goal, before talented forward Cian Ashford netted a dramatic 90th-minute equaliser for the young Bluebirds.

A valiant and spirited display from the Bluebirds against their Severnside rivals.
