The real reason for the transfer request is not what some people may think …… namely that Kiefer wanted to leave .


Naturally he wanted to leave … Everyman and his dog knew that .

The reason for the transfer request (which had to be in writing) is because when a player signs to a new club (such as Moore signing for us) he many times gets a “SIGNING ON FEE”.


This fee by the EFL rules gets paid in equal installments over the period of the players contract . So if a player is on a 3 year contract he gets paid 1/3 of his signing on fee ….. AT THE END of every season.


However - if a club decides to sell a player then they have to pay the full remainder of the signing on fee.

However if a player puts in a transfer request to leave and indeed he is sold - then he loses the remainder of the signing on fee.


This is what the club and Kiefer and his agent were fighting about !!! Kiefer wants to go ….but will not put in writing that he wants to ….. in order for him to get the remainder of his signing on fee.

Rightly the club insisted and I am certain Bournemouth ended up adding this value to Kroger’s contract . Everyone was happy.

It was finally a bit of good business by how we did it, we used the rules to help us not Moore

It always makes me laugh when I see players (like Kane) who want to leave but won’t put in a transfer request for that very reason. As if the money makes a huge difference to them really. In Moore’s case it probable does but premier league totally different.

it is clear now that the club was more than annoyed with the antics of KM, and Morison was as annoyed with him as the club were, and with good reason

On a business level - you cant blame him for being shrewd.
BUT on a professional level - he wanted to go , then he needs to forego the financial gain he would have made and take the hit in order for him to "follow his dreams" etc.

I always thought he had more about him than this. Reminds me of when Chopra got funny with the city photographer and accused him of infringing his image rights by using some photos of him. He now comes across as a petulant child.

Keiffer and his agent must be making a tidy sum off signing on fees with 12 clubs in 9 years.
