When did you learn properly Kieffer was trying to force his way out?

STEVE MORISON:

After the game on Sunday. I actually left and had to come back to the stadium because there was movement.

We were still ‘No’, then obviously it got to yesterday and the final nail in the coffin was the transfer request.

We needed to make a decision and we were always ready and waiting if something happened.

Before the transfer request had even gone in it was reported in the press that the deal was already done. So we were getting forced from all angles.

I think the club made the best decision in the end.

Do Wigan get a sell-on fee apparently its 20%?

I don’t know, I presume so, but it’s not a question I’ve asked.

Fwiw from a playing perspective. I don’t think it’s a good move for him. Financially yes. But he would have played every week here. I think he will get splinters and used sparingly at Bournemouth.
But it’s his choice. Personally I’d have stuck it out for a few more months and tried to leave in the summer with less bad tastes in the mouth.

That said. I do think we have ended up with players that will better suit us now.

A mark of a good player for me is someone you disliked until they signed for you. Hugill was always someone I didn’t like!! Usually because he was always battling and forcing his presence on a game whenever I saw him!

I agree, if he had left in the summer after helping us to stay in the league he would have had the backing of most of our fans to move on and challenge in the PL. He will be a bench warmer at Bournemouth, nothing more and that's because Solanke is a better all round player. How that leaves Kieffer with regards Wales is his problem I guess as Page struggled to pick him even when he was starting for us in a 20 goal scoring season. The way he has forced the move is what has left it bitter for fans so screw him and lets get behind the new players who are here because they want to be.
