UPDATED: New shares being issued by the club £45mill

Tue Feb 01, 2022 10:38 am

UPDATED:

Vincent Tan is trying to raise £45million, trying to bring investors in by selling shares?

Is it for the court cases this year or to raise money for new payers?

The £15mill for Emiliano Sala we were told by Chairman Dalman that that was put aside 2years ago and their is no problem with that.

Then their is another court case next Monday then a couple of months later.

Tan is the major shareholder and this will dilute all the other shareholders shares.

As a very small shareholder

Letter recieved from the club this morning regarding share issue? Probably needs Keith Morgan from the trust to explain, above me

That's interesting.

Didn't Dalman say in an interview early in January that Tan was looking at re-financing options ?

I'm no expert but isn't this a way of raising money/investment ?

This is usually the way tans writes his debt off - Capitalises his debt for a share issue. Decreasing debt and increasing capital on the balance sheet.

So fingers crossed this is what it is! :ayatollah:

Are shares available to buy for fans?

How would someone go about this?

I have shares as well, We will then have less shares.

This is why Michael Isaac is suing Tan, but Isaac will lose in My opinion as Tan as the Major shareholder by law is allowed to do this.

If Tan is the major share holder then he stands to lose the most then ?

Yes he does but theoretically it’s about raising more capital for the club.

No because Tan gets extra shares from his debt to equity conversion

It's not about raising capital, It's about reducing debt. The increase in capital is not new cash - its old debt.

I am not an accountant, but Tan def does not lose out I just asked an accountant

But it’s hard for me to explain in layman’s terms.

I’ve just been told Tan is doing this to try get new investors in.

He would then own less of the club but still be the major shareholder and still in full control.

The Court Case is this Monday coming 7th February 2022.

More shares become available therefore reducing its price. Tan will give himself enough of these new shares to cover the loss in the price drop.

The new director was brought in to restructure the club ready for new investment, there must be someone in the pipeline to come in .

Got into shares years back. Bought some in CCFC, best ones were with a new start up board game. Trivial Pursuit. Had some great shareholder meetings aboard a fancy yacht.

Any chance of copying the letter on here.
I’m a shareholder too., put in what was a lot for me, worth f-all now, but I sort of knew that would happen.

Be interesting to see what’s being said as I’ve not had a letter. Probably sent to the house I moved out of 8 years ago

Oh this means the club are trying to raise money, essentially this means current shareholders have been ****ed over badly short term. Long term if that £45m was spent on players to help with a premiership push then maybe the current shareholders can still make a profit.

But if I was held shares in Cardiff right now I'd be PISSED.

I reckon it’s to cover the forthcoming court cases worth about £50m if we lose them.

Assuming Vincent Tan is the 'purchaser' of said shares rather than a new investor...? :?

Reading inbetween the lines, the latter was hinted at and could be why the new money man, Jalil Rasheed, was brought in early season? :?

Steve Borley confirmed on twitter that this is Tan converting more of his debt into equity to conform with FFP. So its nothing to do with new investment.

Tan converting £45m of debt owed to him into shares which is great news for the club! :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Thank you and this has to be more good news a 'debt' is transferred away from the club

What this means for the club going forward under the current owner is going to be interesting though...

Tan Will probably convert all the debt to shares ,leaving the UK debt free when he sells his shares to a new owner .there fore the new owner would inherited a clean club ,then the new owner will run up debts Again in a cycle of boom and bust .

I might be wrong.. But the whole idea of buying shares is to make money... With ccfcs dilution rate you may as well throw it down the drain
