Letting Chrystal palace sign derby striker when derby are under transfer embargo for breaking ffp rules
Derby County striker Luke Plange has this evening sealed a permanent transfer to Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The 19-year-old has joined the Eagles after an undisclosed fee was agreed for his services on Monday afternoon.
He will remain with the Rams for the remainder of the 2021/22 season after Derby were given permission by the EFL for the striker to return on loan.

Seems palace paid £1.5m for him all upfront

Rog, I couldn’t understand why the EFL gave them a further extension on the original date to prove they had funds etc.

They have opened themselves up to another club suing them should he help keep them up.
A very odd sale and loan back. I think the lad was out of contract in the Summer.
So Palace either cough up £1Million and not get him until the Summer or cough up nothing and not get him until the summer. Poor accounting.
All very unusual especially when you add in that Derby cannot sign any loan players, Derby do not have to pay any of his wages and, if rumours are true, the loan will continue through next season as well.

As a youngster don't you still have to pay a fee if you take him on a free? Development fee or whatever they call it? Maybe Palace thought a tribunal amount would be more than the 1m?
Loaning back to Derby, well that's a different issue. You're either in an embargo or you're not.

The embargo is for transfers in not out.Westill signed players under an embargo i. e Lex Immers.

it only applies to if a fee was paid. So Derby can get away with it by agreeing a sale price slightly below what they would otherwise want to cover the fee they would otherwise be expected to pay. They have form for this kind of transaction
