Cardiff City financially?

Mon Jan 31, 2022 2:50 pm

Kieffer Moore will be ANOTHER senior player that will need to be replaced in the summer. to add to the 10 who are already leaving.

madness to sell unless we have to and really are that poor, then how we go to replace all these players with no money at our disposal yet again this summer?
I suppose the next 10 kids will be put in with the 10 we failed with this season?

I'm going to have a wild guess here and say we will bring in players who are out of contract and the supplement the squad with loans and a few promising youngsters.

A player wanting to leave is pretty much forcing the issue.

Earnie, Gabbs and Collins all moved on for bigger and better.

If it’s 5.5 million (which I’m hearing but won’t be reported here) thats good business. Not as good as 7 million but based on performances he’s not worth anymore than Collins.

£5.5mill ??????

In our dreams from this Committee they sell virtually on the first offer

The deal is worth up to £5mill add ons , goals and promotion this season.

It’s £3mill upfront.

First offer or fifteenth. What does it matter when having a pop at the committee?

Keifer Moore wanted to leave. We got a decent price for him. He wasn’t worth what he was in the summer. In hindsight we should have sold him then. We wouldn’t have been placed much differently.

Steve ,

It was accepted 100%

But Cardiff at the time wanted all the money upfront and Wolves wanted to pay over 3years.

We have now have accepted a lot less.

Clubs rarely pay all up front, but then what would our regime know?

Am guessing it was accepted at first offer, but when we realised we couldn't get our hands on the cash straight away, and being so skint we were desperate for it, we turned it down.

So the club are so skint that they turned down a £7mill income?
Surely if we were that skint we would have accepted any/the first offer that came in. Kind of how we got Moore in the first place.

I always understood the Wolves 'issue' was 'how' it got paid and our club wanted it all (or the largest part of) up front due to needing an urgent cash injection?

Not the done thing really, so Wolves pulled out and the rest (poor season and Keiffer's demise in most eyes, is Bluebird history now

Needed a large cash injection? Which they didn’t get as he didn’t go.

That doesn’t make sense.

Moore was an asset to the club and we didn't want to sell unless the deal was right for us, which it wasn't so the deal didn't go through. That goes against the message a few people portray on here that we would have accepted the first and any offer for our players. If Bournemouth, a championship club, can stump up £3mill then I'm sure wolves, a prem club, could have put £4-5mill up front. If we were that skint and desperate, as barclay and others say, we would have accepted the £7mill last season.

The only reason Moore was sold this season was because he handed in a transfer request. Again, that goes against the notion that the club were pushing to sell a key player, again as suggested on here.
