NOT GOOD UPDATED: SAM SURRIDGE

Mon Jan 31, 2022 11:42 am

UPDATED:

FOREST COME IN AT LAST MINUTE WHICH COULD MESS UP CARDIFF’S DEAL

Striker Sam Sturidge was going to be Kieffer Moores replacement.

He has made 20 appearances / 2 goals for Stoke

The Bluebirds were confident in landing the Potters forward in a bid to replace Kieffer Moore, who is bound for a permanent switch to Bournemouth.

Cardiff were hopeful of getting the deal over the line but still had some final details to thrash out before the move could be sealed.

However, at the last gasp, Forest have intervened and tabled a bid for a permanent deal for Surridge, seemingly scuppering Cardiff's chances of landing the 23-year-old.

Cardiff have no money to offer Forest and can only get loans even after Kieffer Moore is sold.

Forest boss Steve Cooper is a huge admirer of Surridge, having signed the striker during his time at Swansea City.

Cooper was understood to be in the market for a forward on deadline day after striker Lewis Grabban limped off against Cardiff City in the 2-1 win for the Bluebirds on Sunday afternoon.

Would be a decent addition. Pity everything at the moment is loan.

If we survive, these players go back, and we already know there is no money for next year.

Where does this leave Collins?
Surely Sturridge and Hugill will be vying for one position with Watters and David the other.

Do we?

It was said no money in January yet miraculously 4 players have signed all of whom played yesterday.

Give it a rest pal will you. Bemoan what’s happening this season (past tense) all you want but don’t be so negative about future events you know fack all about.

To be fair, you'd equally be slating the Committee for spending money right now...

Quality 'loans' make all the sense in the world right now until we can clear the decks and see what occurs in the forthcoming legal battles

I guess you need to make the negativity fit though, eh? ;)

But he has a point Sven.

We will be back to square one come the end of the season.

It’s just so transparent how anti Tan he is.

He just can’t be positive about anything.

Chris,

It’s unbelievable the negativity 4-6 in when we have no money (supposedly).

There will be money for next season and new players securing Championship football is the important thing at the moment :ayatollah:

Don't like talking about them down west , but for a number of years they have relied on loans.
Who is to say that , a couple of these loans may sign on for next season too ?

Hopefully his rightful position - 4th from left on the subs bench.
Or Maybe he’s going out on loan?

Re: UPDATED: SAM SURRIDGE

Argue this one out with Dalman, hes the one who said no money in the Sumner.

There's been not a penny spent in this window either. All of our new entrants have been more than covered ten times over by selling our most valuable asset.

I'd like to kbow where this 3.5M is going, because the wages we have saved I'm pretty sure will cover our tiny %age of the loan wages we are paying.

Sad you have disregarded the point where I said he would be a decent signing, and just jumped on the bandwagon again.

So what is your problem trying to understand all this Neil. Come the end of the season the loans will all go back to their parent clubs leaving us with what we have struggled with this season.

Also as for these loans "miraculously" appearing claiming Tan must be putting money in well you can take that back with the news that Moore has been sold. It was obvious to those of us he would be sold to cover the costs of the loans.

The Jacks have been very efficient with their loans but also they have not done bad with their permanent staff as well.

Of course he does; but given our current circumstances, it is surely better to get this season out of the way, find out where we stand on and off the pitch, and act accordingly with a view to the future?

I think lessons will already have been learned from this season and the big question will be whether we will see some changes in a number of positions behind the scenes?

With the CAS and (hopefully) Sam sagas out of the way, our position will be known but in the meantime, it is prudent to plug the gaps and limp into the safety of port

Feel a bit sorry for Collins he has played in McCarthys and Morisons over defensive lineups all season but on Sunday Morison played a much more attacking lineup and he got left out. Yes he hasn’t covered himself in glory this season but I expect he would do better in this more attacking setup.

  I must admit I had a similar view of him until yesterday but I thought he combined really well with Hugill and looked to be making some pretty good runs in behind the Forest back-line.

He might yet show that he has a few goals in him but getting Surridge in too will provide competition and cover. We have a large number of games coming up over the next 4-6 weeks so fresh legs are going to be really important.
