Barnsley away ,huge game

Its a difficult task getting up there on a Wednesday night and although its great we have a much needed cash injection with the Glamour game against Liverpool it probably has come at a bad time, hopefully not. A Saturday game against Barnsley would have seen good away support for sure , we are averaging 1250 for away games to date, the re arrangement means we are probably looking at half of that now, but I can guarntee those that do make the trip will be loud and proud.
Forest almost sold out their allocation yesterday 1460 and only returned about 50 of their first allocation they requested. they could have had 2,500 if they wanted or even 3,500 (if they guaranteed sales) they could also pay on the gate yesterday but I am not knocking their support it was live on Sky.
We are taking 6,900 to Liverpool a few days later and no doubt the ones that make the long trip to Barnsley will be there too, but don't knock the ones that pick Liverpool over Barnsley, we are all City fans and calling people "plastics" is a poor generalisation. Its not cheap going to away games so I commend and appreciate every single fan that makes the effort, regardless of who we are playing.
Some of the stands were sparce yesterday but the noise was great at times, we have had an awful season at home, one of the worse in tweny odd years, not just the results but the performances, hopefully yesterday will be confidence booster for our fans to return in numbers, but , again, the ones that were there really got behind the team.
We surfed the new Phil Dwyer banner in the Canton and Ninian stands yesterday, it was really heavy and massive so thanks to everyone who helped get it to the top and back down again.The Supporters Club, Trust ,Disabled supporters club and our Travel group all donated towards the costs we are getting a sinilar one for Brian Clark soon, they will be displayed up in the red seats next to Whitts banner.
It was great to see the support for Kevin Mc Naughton over the weekend and he has acknowledged that support today, hopefully he will be OK going forward.
I will be there at the turnstiles at Oakwell, if you have any issues, come and have a chat
The banner is 100 feet long and 21 feet wide and was expensive so huge thanks to the fan groups.
